Ray Franz cash pay off...?
by Gill inwhen ray franz left brooklyn, he and his wife were given a $10,000 pay off according to crisis of conscience.. was this an act of christianity or was it a pay off to keep him silent about the 'inner workings of the borg'?.
i wondered this because he put up with a lot of defamatory gossip before, after two years, deciding to write his book?.
any one any ideas?

Well dear I am sure you have got gods blessing and your effort is well and good with Jehovah. The societys view on effort is how much you go out in the field service and how many meetings you go to. Don't forget its mostly prayer trust and asking for his mercy living a life free of hate, knowing that as the bible says he knows we are dust, and Jehovah loves us anyway. Jesus says the law is fulfilled if we love others as we love our selfs.

Feeling very grateful for JWD and all..............
by Sunnygal41 in.
lately i've become sooooo grateful for this forum.......don't know if it's all the "spiritual energy" from all the ancient cultures that have held this time of year as a "season of light"......but, i am feeling such an emotional connection to everyone here............so, in keeping with this intense "season of light" i want to tell all of you, even the ones who rub me the wrong way and i rub them the wrong way..............how very much you mean to me.
it's been four years for me since i joined, and the first year, i probably posted very very little, but last year especially, i finally felt myself jelling with the forum..........i finally felt a real part of, with a substantial emotional growth as a result.............thank you, jwd for making my life better and brighter!.

Major Dittos. Me too its a good place to vent and learn new things at the same time, and to think that the GB would love for us all to Shut Up, but where else could we go to find sayings of fun peace and sanity. Shane

New to the forum
by Poztate ini don't know about the rest of you but i seem to see newbies popping up all over the place.
i love it.
i think it would be helpful to have a new listing for newbies to introduce themselves.would there be any problems with this and would it help or hinder the board?

Just a thought-Has anyone ever wondered?
by redhotchilipepper inmaybe if there is a god, that maybe he doesn't want us to know who he is?
maybe he only wants to know us through prayer.
maybe the bible is a hoax?

This life is a test, if it were a real life we would have been instructed what to do and where to go, and of course whom to do it with. Shane

Maybe they divorce less, but are they happy together?
by JH ini met an ex-witness at the mall last week, and she told me that she recently divorced her husband.
both were witnesses for over 20 years.
i was surprised to hear that they were divorced.

Oh how I wish I could have gave my first wife the BOOT when I first married her she was truly a SBFH" and the witness's would have sent me to blazes. She gave me two great daughters but now she has turned them from me. So nifty nifty look whos fifty, now all my future babies have dried up, and I can't have no more from a loving women.

when the end is nigh.. go borrow millions of dollars lol
by candidlynuts inmormons who banked on doomsday find the debt collector at the door does this sound familiar to any of you who were around in the 70s when jw's borrowed money they didnt think they'd ever have to repay?
http://news.independent.co.uk/low_res/story.jsp?story=591991&host=3&dir=70by david usborne11 december 2004. if the 9,000 members of a polygamous mormon sect in south-west utah felt comfortable borrowing from their local bank like there was no tomorrow, it was because, in their minds, that was precisely the case.
the world, they had been told, was coming to an end.. the fundamentalist church of jesus christ of latter-day saints gladly used high-interest funds to finance suspect business ventures.

My dad used to use that word bless his heart "NIGH" I used to roll my eyes around in their sockets, and he would thump me on the noggin. I miss him he went to the great perhaps.

Not in the truth, but haunted by it...
by confuzzed ini am having trouble dealing with this little voice in the back of my head telling me that if i don't go back to meetings i won't go to the new system and everything i am doing is wrong blah blah blah.
although i have agreed to a study i believe it is more to shut up this little voice rather than because i want to be a witness again.
but if i don't go back i have to deal with this horrible feeling all the time.

Such is the power of cult, at least a few religions let you breath and give you your space, their by giving you a rest from self contempt. The GB hum they are pigs from hell.

Do You Now Feel Liberated Since Leaving The "Truth"?
by minimus ini do.
once you realize how much bondage you were under....it's easy to feel good not having the weights of man made rules.
it's very liberating for me to tell people that i no longer associate with the jw religion----very liberating!!

Yes in most everything I do, but I am pissed off mostly at how much time I wasted and how I kept my kids from having fun because some thin magazine with bad art told me to.
