  Is the "marking" policy of the Society defunct or still officially used?

  in my over 30 years as a jw, i honestly can't recall ever hearing about anyone who was being officially "marked" pursuant to the society's "marking" policy based on 2 thess 3:14. .

  in fact, i havn't read anything about their strange "marking" policy in years.

  this makes me wonder if the society still has confidence in it and still officially endorses it?

  can someone explain...how does marking differ from shunning?

  You can greet them but you can not have a spiritually good time with them, (weird).

  Just ran into a DFd Witness trying to "come back"

  i invited him to come inside the coffee shop where i am working (on a book about jws) and he came in saying he had to make it back to the convention center for his assembly, but he was very leary.

  he came in and i invited him to sit down but he woudn't.

  he said he couldn't answer any questions because he was disfellowshipped.

  Its called the power of CULT, when it can control others and they act like robots, and they don't even know it. Its almost laughable if it was not so sad.

  One day when we are fully under the Christ's kingdom rule and the dead are being raised up, we won't even think back on these dificult times of hurt cause everyone will be progressively healed of all these marks of imperfection.

  Does the WTS teach that Jehovah is only "Heavenly Father" to the 144k?

  i don't know if it is my imagination or what, but i've started to notice something odd in recent wts literature (besides all the other odd things): .

  i am struggling to find any mention in recent watchtower articles and publications of jehovah being referred to as the "heavenly father" of jehovah's witnesses!

  for example, in the upcoming october 22-28 watchtower study article entitled "your father is merciful" (quoting from luke 6:36), god is not once referred to as "heavenly father" throughout the entire article!

  GreenDawn has it right, when we all are perfect our relation to him will be much more nicer we will not have to feel bad most all the time for our failings even though we do have Christ blood to atone for us it still hurts to know we miss the mark. Through Christ who took the place of Adam and became our new father in a true sense everything will soon be as it shoulld be.

  i celebrated my first christmas last year and can't wait till this year's season.

  I like Christmas I always have always will I think, whats not to like about Christmas. I like the food the treats the lights, the candles, the cheer, the tree. But I guess the main thing I like is it reminds me of how much Christ gave to everyone even those who were not born yet.

  Help from elders?

  so as an elder, if you have left or are fading now, what specific things made you change your mind?

  is there some thing that most regular meeting goers would not be privy to that made you change?

  i know that you had your elder book, was there stuff in there that was out of line that made you stop and go "no way!"?.

  You do not need the Watch Tower Society to worship Jehovah and Jesus Christ. I tell you the best thing to do is get involved with the modern day Associated Bible Students, their you will not find all this kind of crap and corruption you mention.

  Meaning of prayer

  so when i was in and had to say the prayer for a meeting or at home in front of my family it always was a chore.

  i had to try and remember what other people said or how they phrased things so i could sound soooooo spiritual.

  you are always told to say a prayer like your face to face with god and it should be so heart felt but it was still me talking to myself with my eyes closed.

  Jehovah wants us to approach him with our cares, cause to the extent we roll or push our fears and burdens on him we will find a measure of relief, I think Jehovah rewards those who keep approaching him in prayer with their entreaties cause it shows faith or our proceeding with confidence towards him, and I think he really does like it.

  i was thinking about what started my big doubts with the wt doctrine.

  i remember often questioining certain things but the biggest doubt was when i started some research in the wt literature about a subject i knew a lot about.

  For me it was when they changed the wording for the baptism, making the organization right on the same level with the holly spirit and Jesus Christ, if anyone does not hear and read that, and does not smell the cat food on the wall, I don't feel sorry for them one bit.

  What irritates the JWs most?

  having already started a thread about jw actions that irritated us the issue has to be completed by discussing what we did or can do to irritate them.

  i would say wearing a cross would vex or even frighten them since they think it's a satanic symbol.

  or drawing a cross on a kh with chalk and writing above it : jesus christ lord of the church.

  I will tell yeh what really gets them in the goad is when one of us floaters goes to a casino and wins it so big they put his name in the paper, and the elders can't do squat cause he has been away from the meetings for so dam long and everyone knows he is having a well deserved good time pinching the cocktail waitress's and drinking Jack Cokes.

  He old Joe Rutherford was nothing more than a drunk and Shyster, he would have worked well with P T Barnum, cause it was Barnum that said there is a sucker born every six seconds and I am going to get me one of them. In Rutherford's case he got millions of them.
