The NWT in not dishonest when it conveys the interpretation: not only eating blood which is at the very least what the author meant, but also all other acts connected to blood : all unauthorized use of blood. Including blood transfusions which is a WT interpretation of what eating can also mean in addition to consuming blood orally.

But because the author does not state clearly and distinctly what that action is connected to blood, the reader must conclude for himself. Perhaps the author wants the reader to conclude that it is a Biblical axiom that any unauthorized use of blood is prohibited and that is why he left out the verb. (But that would also include using blood for scientific research, antivenom, vaccines and derivative use.) One thing for sure, not eating blood is enjoined.

"In reading the command to "abstain...from blood" it is clear that something is missing: a verb. The Decree does not come right out and say, "abstain from drinking or eating blood." Yet a verb of some kind is needed to complete the thought.

TD thank you for your gracious reply to my question.

'Twas in 1990 at the Pure Language convention that wt discussed the verb or act (any action done) connected to 'abstain' in the related verse in Acts penned by legerdemain, cool hand... Luke, the beloved physician and author of said book. Funny that today doctors use the same figure of speech.

DD, I have read your other posts on this Forum: You have read a watchtower. Can't you see that wt extrapolations are not derived from archeology when such mismatch the Bible.

539 BCE, the date of the conquest of Babylon by the Persians, et al, is a historical event, an undisputed fact. And according to the Bible, Israel spent 70 year in Babylonian captivity. Given the Bible, do the math.

539 BCE +70 = (609 BCE) - ( the rule of Gedaliah ) - (the time it took the remnant to trample the soil of Jerusalem) = 609- 2 years = 607 BCE. Simple math.

If you have already concluded that the Bible is delusional, suit yourself, but, 607 is not a wt delusion. It is a date computed from a fact. The conclusion from the steele that challenges 607 is not a fact.

TD, your Greek is not better than WT, but, you have made considerable interesting points about blood transfusions and blood fragments when facing death - conscious or unconscious. It would be unjust to debate with you on those subjects just for winning an argument.

The command should be clearly stated and the order should be thoroughly understood. Su Tzu -The Art of War.

a jw family member informed me they are filling out an application to preach the truth in israel.

interested ones in the congregation were asked to start saving now, as the cost of the flights would be their own responsibility.

the time frame for this preaching work is for a couple of weeks in may/june 2017. the applications are to be turned in this sunday.

I'll take the if, that's as close as we're gonna get. In a nutshell:

It don't matter what you want to take.

Given:God is a variable in the gt, what is meant by the gt in terms of God= What did the Bible writers mean?

Some people have taken the time to read a a Novel or a Poem and have actually thought about what the writer is trying to say to the reader. It don't matter who wrote the book or whether the characters are real or fiction.

Since God is part of the GT, one cannot discuss the GT without including God ;hence my post using God with the GT is a valid interpretation whether you want to take it or not -does not invalidate my interpretation of what the BIble writers meant. Therefore, this thread is not about disproving the existence of God, it is about the GT and IF trump has any function in the GT events.

I would like to move on. Tired.

Have I not been discussing another interpretation of the gt with van? So how could I not be aware of it. And even if I did not have such conversation with van posted to prove that ai am aware, it is an axiom that I must be aware of it. So how could you possible reach such a wrong conclusion from a parse in a sentence, that I meant that the existence of God is only a variable with the jw interpretation on the gt. In the context of all of my posts on this Forum and common sense you should have understood what I meant. The existence of God is not subjective, the gt is, but how could the gt or the bible possible be subjective to wt interpretations. Isn't that an axiom too?!

However, it is logical to subject the gt to wt interpretation in the context of wt interpretation posted by me in my reply to vid who is challenging me and to subject wt interpretation to God but it is an axiom that wt doctrines can be wrong even about gt as wt admits. It is also clear that all I wanted vid to understand is that the gt is contingent upon the existence of God and is the subject here so it is not ridiculous as he conveys when he laughs at me when I Posted the modern day fulfillment of fleeing to the mountains to mean exactly what I posted.
