North Korea cannot be allowed to have nuclear missiles, period.
Too late for that, they already got them.

Spoiletta: I don't think that the person that asked the question you referenced understood the President's implications. - What could possibly be tougher than the threat of blowing NK off the map? (Hint)
The President's reference to fire and fury in his initial threat to NK is an allusion to President Trumpman's message to Japan before dropping the bomb.
It is an axiom that if NK tried something, the US would act exactly the way the President said. NK knows this even if the President hadn't said it, so there is nothing extreme about his initial message. NK has continued to make threats against the US. The president has made it very clear to NK what to expect. The only thing tougher than a threat is not another threat but actions that speak louder than words. That's is how I interpret the President's message.

Outlaw, I enjoy your posts on this thread and especially your commentary.

Trump is now saying, he should have talked tougher.
That's not what he said.
He said that maybe his statement was not tough enough. In other other words, maybe NK needs something tougher than a mere statement. When asked how can anything be tougher than fire and fury, he replied "We'll see."

NK threats and rocket launches is a stage to proclaim to be the US and to the world that NK is a superpower. Like China and Pakistan NK wants to sit at the table with the big boys now. When Pakistan became nuclear, they proclaimed that they had a little gift for the US. The US said nothing.

gluttony seems to be a sin that jw's like to ignore .there are several scriptures that point out that gluttony is a sin, proverbs 23:20-21 "do not join those who gorge themselves on meat".....also i read somewhere that 1% is the number of disfellowshipped jw's each year......how do prove someone is a glutton and not just a person who love food???
?.
So the Christian has good reason to work hard in being a good example in moderation.
Is an elder who is fat because he over eats moderate in habits? How about other overweight persons in the Cong?

1988 wt publication discusses how to avoid gluttony and also talks about spiritual gluttony. Don't know if it is still in print. Also, 1888 Zion's wt. Great spiritual food at that time.
jehovah's witnesses have had to revise their chronology and various doctrinal interpretations due to events and scholarly corrections.
but the one teaching where they have been consistently ahead of the curve is the importance of jehovah's name.. .
i'm going to run through a (necessarily selective) timeline of jw events and scholarly publications that demonstrate the phenomenal success of this teaching in the last days.
have to say, based on this thread alone, that SBF remains perhaps my favorite poster. He doesn't play the game and articulates issues well - which is not to say I always agree with him. But he gets me thinking which I value.
Same here Steve and I have also expressed on other threads how much I enjoy and respect his posts even when I don't agree with him. He is one of the best posters here and also a talented writer -as I have expressed before.
