I don't know what he meant. But I disagree that donations are covering expenses because SL Jan 2016 broadcast shows no inflow and for the reasons SBF posted.

due to watchtower flagging the mike & kim videos on youtube for copyright, youtube is giving them 6 days before they are shutting down their entire youtube channel.

can you help with a mass downloading program and then reuploading them on a mirror ?

would hate to lose all those good videos!

@ Laliberte. Simon's post shows that it is not for a public Forum to decide what is lawful.

How is KM forbidden usage of copyrighted material moral after they were given notice to cease and desist by the copyright owners and instead of legally showing good cause opened another account using another name and continued to use the material disregarding YT tos and the owners' expressed wishes. ( Assuming that KM were asked to stop. I don't know if their usage infringes,my posts assumes that they do and that they defied a cease and desist notice )

I never said pioneering made the org money.

It made money before 1990. Where did the cash to buy real estate come from. WT having billions? Cults are about money so that cult leaders can live it up and cult leaders are mostly not true believers. And cult leaders send out their followers to bring money to line their pockets like the moonies of the 70's. Wt leaders were once lowly pubs for 30 40 years and worked themselves up and are true believers and it's no picnic being gb, etc, Too much work and no payoff for all the work.They didn't just appear out of nowhere like cult leaders do. How is wt a cult? It's just a religion with rules for membership. Mormons and Jews and Gypsies shun too. Influencing members does not make an entity a cult. But that is not relevant.

The only teeth is conscience. An awareness that everyone should donate. That is the way the ball is rolling. We will see the results. But donations will always be voluntary and personal between JW and God.

Dubbies convince normal average people to work fulltime and dedicate 70 hours a month to the recruiting work...

Where does it payoff in cash for wt? For Mormons, they extract money before a person even joins. For Jw someone could join and not give a penny in 29 years. From 1990 free donations till now JWs have doubled in number while donations have gone down.

The copyright material MK is using is not theirs to use. It is the property of wt. The owners of the property have made it known to MK that they do not have permission to use it. MK have not challenged WT ownership by filing a petition in Court which is the legal and moral thing to do.

There is nothing more to say on this except that MK can go to jail or die for their beliefs and you too. But I doubt it. You will chicken out if faced with a stiff fine or jail. You are all talk and so is MK. Put your assets where your mouth is Laliberte like JW do in SK, Russia and did in Nazi Germany, the US , etc. and I will respect you.

No, that is a misrepresentation of what I stated. All that I meant to say is that as genuine as Isis and MK may be, good intentions don't make copyright infringement or stealing moral.

Also, MK published their views using wt material and it is a defense if they claim that they did not know at that time that they were breaking the law . But they were informed to stop but inspite they continue to defy the owners wishes besides deliberately breaking the law with no legal actions filed by them in Court in support. That is wrong. It could be wt or my worst enemy, makes no difference. Because I hate someone doesn't make it right to infringe on something that is not mine to use.

I feel your pain TD, and also, after lauding you as one of the very top greatest posters on this site together with Marvin Shilmer and SBF, it is hard to give you a reply that disagrees with you. It is with a spirit of respect and admiration and with fellow feeling that I reply to your views.

And besides, your property is only and apple and you should not be so upset if people steal your property because it is only an apple and it is moral to steal an apple because Jesus says so in the Bible and wt should not get upset and allow anyone one who likes to steal apples to infringe wt copyright because it is moral! And that is why Isis steals apples too. !!! Therefore every one should break copyright laws because they are stealing an apple and it is the moral thing to do to expose wt by stealing an apple.

A poor kid from the neighborhood steals an apple form me.

And you tell him to stop stealing again and again and again and then people like you go on the internet and encourage copyright infringement of the wt material. Copyright infringement is unlawful and punishable. And that's that.

Following your logic, the JWs locked up in South Korea and recently in Russia are immoral as well than! BTW:

JW are not locked up for stealing. They have done nothing immoral. Same JW conduct is legal all over the world except in suchlike countries. MK conduct is wrong everywhere in the world.

Maybe people should follow your example and go on the Internet and encourage others to steal your property and give it to the poor? The poor need your property more than you. Shouldn't all the homeless in the neighborhood sleep in your house? Shouldn't everybody borow your car and use it for a good cause. Why should you have a computer SL and use it to encourage wt copyright infringement? After all,'you have money and can buy another one. Shouldn't people take your computer and property from you and use it to tell others how they feel about you. Why should you have money if you are going to use it to make people upset. Why shouldn't people take your money and use it for something better than you are using it because you are using your money to make people that don't like you upset. You can work and make more money so don't worry it is not so important. Let others steal from from you because stealing is not immoral when someone steals from sl1 because they don't like you and 2 because you are wrong.

Something that I know first hand about Mormon tithing is that some decades ago, someone I knew was studying with the Mormons. After a while studying with them, he told me that they kept pressuring him to tithe. He wasn't even part of the group yet. Soon after he told me, I went to his house one day and the Mormons were there and when I came in it was all smiles and handshakes etc. ( of course I was saying to myself: 'Babylonians!') I pretended to be aloof from the discussion they were having with him but I was listening and they were all over him asking him over and over again to tithe.

For JW, FS is voluntary but it is compulsory at the same time because it has to be reported and if a person doesn't participate he is branded as irregular etc. And besides that FS is what being JW is all about.

Getting donations of suggested amounts for wt products and services is all over. The doors are closed for good.

The ball is already rolling. JW will understand that like FS and meetings they will also need to contribute. Donations is something like FS and meeting attendance that they have to do but unlike FS and meetings no one is watching and no consequences for not donating. It is between him and God. JW will understand that donating is part of their worship. And that is how wt will be financed. Up to now, it is like SBF posted, JW figured that by giving their time and volunteering they didn't need to give cash. They will understand that they also need to give cash. That is the bottom line.
