due to watchtower flagging the mike & kim videos on youtube for copyright, youtube is giving them 6 days before they are shutting down their entire youtube channel.

can you help with a mass downloading program and then reuploading them on a mirror ?

would hate to lose all those good videos!

On the one hand SL leaves moral accountability to God.

It is obvious that the WT lies, distort the truth and manipulate its members through propaganda. Mike and Kim are doing their best to denounce such practices. If, in technicality, they are indeed breaching the Copyright laws, it is obvious to anyone who see's their videos that the motives are moral.

On the other hand not only does SL self defines wt conduct as immoral but wants to go after them holding wt accountable - not to God- but to KM and to Laliberte as justification for breaking the law and encroaching on wt copyright.

fair use is worth exploring and fighting for.

According to Listener, KM has not done that, they just posted using another name.

Laliberete feels that KM using wt material on YT is the moral thing to do ( ' to hold wt accountable') even if it is forbidden by law. He also challenges the morals of a Court Order stopping KM from doing so.

Your statement assumes the existence of morality. If it does exists it must be defined.

I don't know what he meant. But I disagree that donations are covering expenses because SL Jan 2016 broadcast shows no inflow and for the reasons SBF posted.

@ Laliberte. Simon's post shows that it is not for a public Forum to decide what is lawful.

How is KM forbidden usage of copyrighted material moral after they were given notice to cease and desist by the copyright owners and instead of legally showing good cause opened another account using another name and continued to use the material disregarding YT tos and the owners' expressed wishes. ( Assuming that KM were asked to stop. I don't know if their usage infringes,my posts assumes that they do and that they defied a cease and desist notice )

I never said pioneering made the org money.

It made money before 1990. Where did the cash to buy real estate come from. WT having billions? Cults are about money so that cult leaders can live it up and cult leaders are mostly not true believers. And cult leaders send out their followers to bring money to line their pockets like the moonies of the 70's. Wt leaders were once lowly pubs for 30 40 years and worked themselves up and are true believers and it's no picnic being gb, etc, Too much work and no payoff for all the work.They didn't just appear out of nowhere like cult leaders do. How is wt a cult? It's just a religion with rules for membership. Mormons and Jews and Gypsies shun too. Influencing members does not make an entity a cult. But that is not relevant.

The only teeth is conscience. An awareness that everyone should donate. That is the way the ball is rolling. We will see the results. But donations will always be voluntary and personal between JW and God.

Dubbies convince normal average people to work fulltime and dedicate 70 hours a month to the recruiting work...

Where does it payoff in cash for wt? For Mormons, they extract money before a person even joins. For Jw someone could join and not give a penny in 29 years. From 1990 free donations till now JWs have doubled in number while donations have gone down.

The copyright material MK is using is not theirs to use. It is the property of wt. The owners of the property have made it known to MK that they do not have permission to use it. MK have not challenged WT ownership by filing a petition in Court which is the legal and moral thing to do.

There is nothing more to say on this except that MK can go to jail or die for their beliefs and you too. But I doubt it. You will chicken out if faced with a stiff fine or jail. You are all talk and so is MK. Put your assets where your mouth is Laliberte like JW do in SK, Russia and did in Nazi Germany, the US , etc. and I will respect you.

No, that is a misrepresentation of what I stated. All that I meant to say is that as genuine as Isis and MK may be, good intentions don't make copyright infringement or stealing moral.

Also, MK published their views using wt material and it is a defense if they claim that they did not know at that time that they were breaking the law . But they were informed to stop but inspite they continue to defy the owners wishes besides deliberately breaking the law with no legal actions filed by them in Court in support. That is wrong. It could be wt or my worst enemy, makes no difference. Because I hate someone doesn't make it right to infringe on something that is not mine to use.
