The Watchtower's Real Crisis

when discussing the watchtowers financial problems, i've generally been of the opinion that they probably are not in a real financial crisis.

i've come to believe that money may be something of an issue, but its wrapped up in a much larger problem.

this came to me this morning when reading about the annual meeting.. i think the society's leadership is just plain out of ideas.

SBF, I posted about this some threads back. JW are conviced that wt is invincible subject to their religious faith, not based on the reality of Pharaoh's advancing army, but that's not what we are talking about, at least not me, in the related threads on the topics you started that continues to be a relevant subject on this thread. A lot of unsubstantiated views have been posted by posters about their feelings about wt invincibility which can be likened to JW faith of wt invincibility. But that's not what we are talking about here : " I feel wt is going to do this." The evidence shows a financial crisis and the doctrine of crying wolf for 103 years. That's the evidence. How much longer can wt continue to cry wolf with nothing happening after 103 years! And what's the business model, as you mention, for making money to pay the bills and fund the movement besides the donation boxes? Selling off assets and cutting expenses is not a business model. We can divert the topic into a religious discussion as some posters are saying that they feel wt next move is but with no evidence to show challenging yours. Evidence shows the hounds are at the door.

An engine can't run on ideas, it needs money to burn no matter how many ideas. Money is the real "crisis."

Pubs around the world don't have money to burn to finance printing and personnel in an endless campaign, and don't want to gear up for another century or two of urgent preaching.

Morpheus, you are entitled to your opinion. I have stated my position to you and I meant what I said. If you have concluded that I swallow any apostate teaching posted here, you are wrong. Respectfully, let me clear up any misunderstandings, whether or not wt is laughed out of existence or wt is wiped out out of existence, I am no Judas, I am with wt. What you feel or interpret or conclude about me is entirely up to you and has nothing to do with the subject matter being discussed. If you want to discuss the topic, I may reply to your post but if you divert the subject matter of the thread into remarks about me and what I should be doing, I have nothing more to say to you.

Eliminating the Yearbook

Since the yearbook is all about the WT movement as evidenced by the preaching work, its elimination suggests to me that the wt preaching work movement is stopping, mainly for financial reasons but also for doctrinal reasons.

Anthony Morris said in his talk "If you can't see how close we are to the end right now, you must be in a coma"

One thing for sure, the wt era as characterized by the watchtower magazine and the world wide work, has ended. The elimination of the YB is proof -let alone everything else.

A lot of poster have been wrong about wt resorting to begging, wt is not begging, they have begun to close their doors. But this is going to have a positive effect on the undecided towards deciding in favor of wt and has boosted the moral of all JW across the globe.

WT has challenged society with wt bible predictions and beliefs for aprox 103 years. Has time shown wt wrong? What will happen next we shall see when the over-weight lady sings and the wait is over.

Never! too many angry people that will never forgive wt for wakening them up from precious sleep on Saturday mornings for nothing.

Cost reduction that's it. Everything else is a guess.

People read into things too much and conclude too much.

If mags were producing money or results, they wouldn't be cut. But seems that producing them are an expense and at least the same results or more can be expected with fewer mags at a great savings, same goes for other literature. This is also part of an ongoing transition into dIrecting people to JW. Org and to personally download digital literature except for the very elderly for which the written word was originally intended for in this digital era. I am puzzled that wt is projecting preaching past this year and into 2 years from now. I don't know what to guess . We will see what happens.

Do you mean to say that only 3 issues of the wt magazine will be released per year. Is that including digital or do you mean to say that only 3 paper issues of the wt will be available in paper form.

Also there is the public wt and the study edition wt. What do you mean that only 3 issues will be released per year????

U.K. NHS Attitude to Blood Transfusion and its Safety

while visiting someone at the local hospital i saw this leaflet " will i need a blood transfusion ?

- patient information" .

now i was raised in the belief that doctors are transfusion-happy and just give you one willy nilly if they operate , further that a trans.

As far as I can tell, as a layman, if you live in the developed world Blood transfusions are as safe as any other medical procedure and the WTS is misleading it's members to say different !

If a person has lost a couple of gallons of blood or so, what is riskier, death or a blood transfusion? But a person getting a BT can only hope the blood is safe --You just don't know. But for a jw, it doesn't matter, he has already decided beforehand that he is prepared to die rather than to get a safe or risky BT.

the first humans (adam and eve) never learned to toddle surrounded by brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles and grandparents cheering them on.

the entire experience of childhood was excised surgically like a trauma patient awakening from an accident with amnesia.adam and eve were never in a neighborhood with other kids forming friendship bonds for life and exchanging dreams and hopes for a future they were building in their community.

I don't think that type of question toward the original poster is fair.

All I meant to say is that God was Adam and Eve's mother and father and that couldn't have been so bad, if you know what I mean.
