But, when they can't pay their bills they better go ask their "spiritual" friends for money!!!
If God is real then they will manage.
just spent 8 hours in a 1 day elders school last weekend.
clarification given: "moving forward any elder, ms, or pioneer who themselves or someone under their roof enrolls in higher education, may no longer qualify for privileges in the congregation.
their qualifications will have to be reviewed by their boe.".

higher level of education will allow them to work less and earn more while devoting time to preaching, etc. JWs are ever so practical. If the goal of the education is to be able to serve the organization more fully, I don't think it is frowned upon.
That would not be highly viewed by the congregation and it is not what a JW who has faith should do.

Education is just like any other investment.
No it ain't. One can lose an investment and go belly up-but it ain't the same with an education, you never lose it and it puts you at an advantage over others without one (everything considered: those born into wealth or royalty rule over the educated) and it enriches a person's senses and therefore one's quality of life. The best of both worlds is a higher education and being a JW. Given the choice though, I would give everything, higher education and wealth; there is nothing I would not give for the relationship I experience with God as a JW.

Scene 1
Brother Lowly one who at the Society's counsel coming from the local elders never went to college and is a full time pioneer and flips burgers to make ends meat talking to Brother Elder who is congregation PO:
Brother Elder: "How are you doing spiritually brother Lowly, I see you have been missing meetings lately?" It ain't easy says brother Lowly, but somehow, I manage."- Brother Elder opens open the Bible to give some counsel..... Brother Lowly: "Thank you for that encouragement, Brother Elder, I will never forget when I was studying the Bible with you how you discouraged me to go to college and by the way, how is your family, Brother Elder?" "Well, my wife is a full time pioneer but she is also going to College at night, she wants to get her degree is Sociology- but she is pioneering!" "You know brother Lowly, the world has changed since you came into the truth, a High School diploma just does not cut it anymore ( Brother Lowly interrupts: "Tell me about it!" ) and that is why my daughter has no choice but to go to college, she is majoring in Economics with a minor in psychology....! She is very excited."
Scene 2
" This is to inform .. Brother Elder has been deleted as an Elder."
i'm so thankful for sites such as this.
i realise it's our imperfection but god's organization is not always open to 'outside the box' thinkers such as ourselves.
i've been researching dinosaurs and god's reason for not preserving these beasts beyond the flood of noah's day.
LOL
i think the wt will never give up this practice unless forced to by the courts, even if they are financially failing terribly they will keep it because the moment they do get rid of it the whole thing will collapse even faster and they know it(or afraid of it happening).
they have painted themselves into a corner of financial ruin.
.
"Shunning" is never going away. Some JW shun family more that the wt requires. Another problem is when a df JW pushes non-JW way of life (worldly ways) down the throats of grand children or other close relatives to the point where the JW relative decides to cut all ties. Or a df relative chooses a lifestyle that JW will not tolerate.
i awoke in the middle of the night to banging on my door.
i went to the door half asleep and asked who was there.
i heard “police.” my dog was going crazy, so i slipped outside to talk to them.

to the majority of people who investigate the activities of the wts from its beginning history there were obvious false proclamations and doctrines propagated by the wts.. a matter of fact the wts produced a long list of literature that posted proclamations on the front cover and went into detail of things that were suppose to happen, from jesus returning changing the world in which we live and so on.. wonderful things one might say but not factual or either theologically correct .
.
For many JW's, they are convinced about their religion more than gravity. A JW may get up from his bed in the morning and ask, "What if gravity is wrong?" but will never ask, "What if the GB is wrong?"
I disagree. JW realize that GB direction is subject to error ( in fact gb admit it ), whereas gravity is not. However, JW are convinced that they can trust God more than in: scientific realism and in cause and affect if they had to choose.

Fink, you are not a dislikable poster, also, I respect your feelings but you are blatantly wrong abou WT being about commercialism. If you were ever a JW, you should realize this.
