Ukraine is absolutely a red line for them… shock…
That makes sense that Russia has been concerned about the bases, gave fair warning and justifies Russia’s move. As if people could somehow believe that Russia could be pushed around and do nothing.
All of the above granted, I can’t see why they gave Ukraine their independence to begin with. I also believe that given any opportunity or reason, they would still do the same without the bases.

If they can take back Alaska, they would too. You see, they are trying to take back Ukraine because they can. Ukraine is very desirable besides the bases—and very strategic. 1962 was all about the bases, US didn’t want Cuba. That is not the case with Ukraine.

So does the US and other world powers. Everybody on earth dies cuz Russia wants Ukraine? The Russian people and Russian high commanders don’t want to die either. Everything is possible but short of that, the war will end someway without nukes.

so my grandparents got a letter from a jw.
they have gotten these kind of letters over the years and they always give them to me and this time i got fed up and i wrote the guy back.
just wanted to post my reply letter in case anyone could use a chuckle on a sunday morning.
If it makes you feel better, you can write back such a letter as you did. But I just throw out letters or hang up the phone if I’m not interested.

I was just going to start a Topic along the same lines: Religion without God.
Many Jews for example that are active in Judaism profess to be atheists and they wear a skull cap, keep kosher, keep the sabbath and the whole ball of wax because that is what identifies them with the Jewish community. Same as participating in church rituals such as the sacraments without any belief in God whatsoever.
Why go through all that trouble? Because they like it. It is part of their heritage and culture and custom, etc. — but not to please God.
