“This GOOD NEWS of the kingdom” is not a message of doom. Just like Noah entered the Ark, they took no note.

Some thoughts on the message of doom
by JeffT inone of the recent threads on the talk about the hailstone message got me to thinking.
the problem with putting out a message like that is what to do when nothing happens.
i have to think that somebody will be asking that question.

What Will JW's Do If They Find Themselves Still Conscious after Death?
by Sea Breeze inwe all know that despite many scriptures to the contrary, jw's believe that when they die, their consciousness will cease.
my question is this: what will be the likely reaction of jw's if they find themselves conscious after death?.

Either way, the next conscious moment after death, you will face the inevitable.
I think the realization comes during one’s life or shortly before death. Sort of like the dance of death in the movie Once Upon a Time in the West when Bronson puts the harmonica between Fonda’s teeth, then he knows. He was forced to see.

GOD’S TRUTH ON THE MATTER. Research research research
“..spirit goes out, it goes back to God. In that day his thoughts perish”
The way I read the verse is that the life force that animates the person leaves the body and the mortal creature ceases to exist. —That is to say until the creature is resurrected from the dead. But in the meantime the dead know nothing. That is why Job said “all my days of compulsory service I shall wait” and -Lord I know he will rise on the last day-and Jesus was the firstborn to spirit life from the dead. Prior to Jesus the dead were not conscious and needed a resurrection. Same thing after Jesus. The dead still need a resurrection. No point in creating a tree of life if you don’t really die. All creatures are mortal. Only God is Almighty and everlasting. However, God can give a creature immortality. That’s how I read the Bible.

Elder asks my disfellowshipped cousin to leave house while grieving for his grandmother
by RULES & REGULATIONS infourteen years ago i started a thread on how horrible my disfellowshipped cousin was treated after his mom passed away and the terrible actions on the part of the elders at the funeral home.. 67. horrible conduct by congregation elders at my cousin's funeral.............. well, here we are 14 years later, and things haven't changed!.
my aunt ( who is my disfellowshipped cousin's grandmother ) was placed in home hospice care.
the nurse told her daughters ( who are jehovah's witnesses and live with their mother ) that their mom probably has 2 days left to live and that they should call the immediate family.. my disfellowshipped cousin and his sister show up in the early morning.

PRP (platelets) injections, are they effective? Do they REALLY work?
by Fisherman insince health insurance doesn’t pay for prp injections, i am skeptical about it’s efficacy.
obviously if this treatment was necessary, it would be paid by health insurance.
don’t know much about prp except that the physician extracts blood from the patient and concentrates the platelets from the blood then injects the medicine into the affected site in the body to speed up healing of a torn ligament for example.. i saw an interesting statement in wt online site saying or implying that sub major components might be a personal decision and also using one’s own blood may be a personal decision, if i understood the information correctly..

I'd guess that PRP therapy acceptable to JWs, would probably require the collection apparatus to remain connected to the patient throughout the procedure (?)
Well, I know that was the understanding. But the articles I posted say nothing about that. Basically, one says using your own blood is a personal choice. The other one says using small amounts of one’s major component sometimes processed is a allowed. Nothing is said about prohibition of non processed small amounts of major components. Clearly whole blood from a donor is forbidden whereas autologous blood is not so clear which I conclude means personal choice unless I am wrong.

“A Christian must decide for himself how he will allow his own blood to be handled in the course of a surgical procedure. The same applies to medical tests and current therapies that involve extracting a small amount of one’s own blood, perhaps modifying it in some way, and then reinjecting it.”
wt 6/15/2006
Just as blood plasma can be a source of various fractions, the other primary components (red cells, white cells, platelets) can be processed to isolate smaller parts. For example, white blood cells may be a source of interferons and interleukins, used to treat some viral infections and cancers. Plateletscan be processed to extract a wound-healing factor. And other medicines are coming along that involve (at least initially) extracts from blood components. Such therapies are not transfusions of those primary components; they usually involve parts or fractions thereof. Should Christians accept these fractions in medical treatment? We cannot say. The Bible does not give details, so a Christian must make his own conscientious decision before God.
Enjoy life forever p163
What about the medical use of blood? Some procedures clearly violate God’s law. These include the transfusion of whole blood or any of its main components—red cells, white cells, platelets, and plasma. Other medical procedures may not be a clear-cut violation of God’s law. For example, some procedures involve the use of fractions of one of the main components of blood. Other procedures involve the use of a person’s own blood. When weighing these options, each of us must make a personal decision.

As to whether the witnesses would accept this type of treatment, I would have to say no since this is an injection of whole blood.
It is autologous blood fraction.

I agree with cofty here, there is no consciousness outside the physical body.
—Any after life depends upon a resurrection from the dead. WT interpretation makes sense that God wants the earth to be filled with righteous people although some people can go to heaven like Jesus told his apostles that they would go there to rule as kings and be the wife of Christ but not everybody because most people stay on earth.
