Just read that Carl Olof Jonsson died yesterday
by slimboyfat infor newbies, who was carl olof jonsson?
he was a jw in sweden who was challenged by a householder in the 1960s, who pointed out to him that secular history books don’t agree with watchtower that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, but instead place the event 20 years later.
the reason the date is important is because it is the starting date for jw chronology which leads to 1914 as the end of the gentile times, and the beginning of the last days, as jws understand it.

The Watch Tower Society's attempts to defend its doctrines are pathetic.
No they are not.
I have already specifically rebutted the Watch Tower Society's attempts to defend 607.
No you haven’t.
Still waiting for you to back up your claim that I've employed logical fallacies too.
Read.
I am still waiting for proof that falsifies 607.

The Twos : tattoos. Not the 1900,1901..1920,1980,1999 -But the twos: two thousand, two thousand one, two thousand two, two thousand twenty two: THETWOS—TATTOOS. Like the 60’s sexties was the sex revolution. Or the music band, The Police, song “Every breath you take” and police choke holds suffocating people.
It’s what people ironically do.

Wrong from the first sentence.
Wrong.
Objecting to information solely on the basis that you disagree with it is fallacious.
Fallaseeking
Opinions and interpretations are arguable. You conclude too much when you read. Im interested in proof and not rehashing the same argument wt has already rebutted. Believe what you like. Not interest in fallacious conclusions.
WT scholars have over many decades produced scholarly research which proves 607 BCE as the only possible date for the Fall of Jerusalem
I’ve listened to other schools of thought with an open mind but I believe in wt 607. Even if I wasn’t a JW I would still believe unless there is evidence that shows it is another date.
An apologist is like a defense attorney that advocates someone regardless of truth and resorts to fallacy and doesn’t have to believe in what he is defending. I don’t see the info scholar posted on this topic as apologetic. Jeffro tries to push his assertions and conclusions as fact but only beliefs that wt has already replied to. Don’t like wt replies? Prove otherwise.

The twos 2000-2022….
Is that why do so many people put on tattoos? Or are there other reasons? I can’t understand it. Any explanations?

Given a 70 year exile ending in 539 (circa) the beginning of such exile should begin in 609 ( circa ) or 70 years earlier. Based on Bible interpretation WT 607 belief is valid vis-à-vis the trinitarians, atheists, et al. Obviously -423 is out of wack but -607 is plausible. Now if there is scientific evidence that Jerusalem was destroyed circa 586 or debunking 607, I’d like to see it but so far it is about interpretation of steles it appears and wt has made a rebuttal to those interpretations. To revisit the same arguments again is annoying because they are only views that I disagree with.

Jews believe in a 70 year exile and a complete desolation of the land after Gedaliah but Jewish definition of exile doesn’t begin after Gedaliah but still 70 and complete desolation like JW and the destruction of Jerusalem at -423. Obviously Jerusalem was destroyed much later but that’s how Jews see it inspite of historical and astronomical evidence of much later on. Bible interpretation is subjective. I’m convinced in a 70 year desolation as scholar has explained. Jeffro uses too much fallacy in his debate with scholar. Aside from fallacy Scholar has won the debate here. Bases on Bible interpretation I see it circa 607 other non JW too. I think if you want to prove 586 you would need to show astronomical and historical evidence. I’ve seen interpretations of evidence suggesting 586 which have convinced a lot of people but nothing solid like 539. I would like to hear SBF and TD views and Ernest’s.

According to orthodox Judaism, Jerusalem was destroyed circa 423 BCE or 3338 Jewish calendar (if I remember correctly.) But orthodox Jews believe that the Zion was empty for 70 years with the Jews exiled in Babylon. With Judaism there is more than one opinion for example there are 3 dates for the destruction of the second Temple: 68,69,70. Rashi and Rambam say 68 but 69 and 70 are also believed by others. However it is still interesting the Judaism believes in a 70 year exile and the land desolate like we JW.
