  i can confirm that the co during one of his service talks stated that zoom is a provision for elderly, infirmed, as well as people who might need it on occasion due to health reasons, otherwise you are expected to be in person at meetings and in the ministry.

  this had to come down from the top.

  maybe they do not want to put it in a gb update or broadcast since that would be too public i suppose.

  please consider the following scenario.. you're seated on a railway platform bench waiting for your train.

  a high speed intercity is about to hurtle through without stopping when you see a small child running to the platforms edge!

  God ain’t running the show at present. That’s what the Bible is about: Armageddon, the resurrection, etc. In the meantime, painfully, there is nothing you can do. In the meantime humanity is fighting to stop it with technology and medical science.

  I see how most people even on this forum find a person guilty upon hearing an accusation. You gotta listen to the defense.

  What I find most painful and devastating is a child’s joyful laughter and smile in his innocence . Life is so painful and cruel and one feels so helpless like the catcher in the rye. Imagine seeing someone deaf or blind or a devastated bereaved parent and having the power to help.

  Magnum, I enjoy reading your posts.

  If you were an elder, you know that seeming sincerity may disguise investigation. He will go the the body and report about you. The intention is good, to help you if you need spiritual help.Then again maybe he is sincere and won’t do that.

  Dont you realize that other JW too perceive that something is wrong: WT said the end would come in the 1914 generation. It didn’t. There is also a new younger class of anointed. There is no shortage of anointed for the gov body. One would figure that only a lingering very old anointed would be left but the gb is getting younger all the time. And other things. But JW experience a real relationship with God and they still experience it inside JW religion which cannot be invalidated by the perceived wrongs. This relationship with God trumps everything else.

  I do think it is valid to defend yourself by claiming that your accusers have it wrong

  For example if someone hits you and you retaliate by hitting them back. The State charges you with assault and you claim self defense and the State has it all wrong cuz you say the laws should be different and they took the land from the Indians and you are a sovereign citizen so you don’t need a driver’s license. By legal definition that is assault and not self defense.Some supporters may like what you say but in the jurisdiction of the church over you, you committed apostasy and you are not repentant. Outside the jurisdiction of the church you can call pink elephants a defense or believe whatever you like.

  How is the speech relevant or a defense?

  1. You are a member of JW

  2. JW elders have jurisdiction over you.

  3. JW have a code of conduct that all JW must follow

  4 You were being accused of violating the JW code of conduct. If you want to be a JW you need to try to live by the code.

  5. A defense is showing you didn’t break the code or mitigating why you did. Your speech doesn’t do that, it challenges JW. That is not a defense. If you don’t believe in JW religion start your own. JW are not going to change because you don’t like JW anymore.

  any opinions are just speculation, but my guess, being morbid, is that there was not a hull breach and implosion (although that would have been the most merciful fate for them), but instead the amateur level of building this thing meant that it lost power and communication and got itself tangled in the titanic's wreckage or is sitting on the actual seabed with no way to release ballast to resurface.

  terrifying.

  Nahh. Too expensive and too heavy and not doable. The hull must have been built with a steel alloy or at least titanium. My guess without doing the math is a hull 7+ inches thick, seamless with no windows. When I read carbon fiber??????!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe it. Without doing much thinking who in his right mind would go to the bottom of the ocean in carbon fiber. Don’t these billionaires have google?

  i believe this list which many of us worked on needs to see the light of day again...and added to if possible.. you know you are in the wrong religion:1. when the all important question is not: "do you believe in the lord jesus christ?"....but....

  "do you believe in the "faithful and discreet slave" appointed in brooklyn in 1919?"2.

  when you will be refused baptism if: a. you don't believe jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bc (whereas all non-jw scholars, all encyclopedias and all history books say this event took place in 587 bc.)b.
