Voting a Conscience Matter?

is voting now a conscience matter?

i remember it being discussed here somewhere and that there was an article on voting and that it is now a conscience matter.

does anyone know where that article can be found?

Again, a lot of views but nothing in writting. The wt article posted seems to be that last stated position on wt doctrine on this issue. If jws in some parts of the world are not sanctioned by the wts if they choose to vote,(according to what is stated in the posted wt article) the same applies by principle to all jws everywhere.

Off topic: Getting antivenum or tetanus vaccine is a matter of concience based on the sanctity of blood principle according to wts dogma. What an outrage it is to confuse people making it an option for them in order to be acceptable to God that they risk dying instead of getting livesaving medical treatment or prevention of disease. Certainly every sane person should have the right to choose what medical treatment they want but don't burden people with "conscience" as a guilt reason to refuse safe and effective medicine in my opinion.

Many statements expressed here that voting is against wt doctrine or a df offense is not supported with wt literature. The quoted Wt article posted in this thread does not say anything that prohibits voting by the wt. It only says that voting is a conciense matter. If anyone has any information from the wt stating that voting is unchristian please post. If nothing in writting from the wts can be presented that voting is against the jw doctrine, then one must conclude from the wt article quoted that voting is a conciense matter.

when i joined the jws, racial issues were not really discussed much, other than some mention in the material given to me during my bible study in the "truth" book.

our kingdom hall had only one dark skinned individual, who is portguese, and one of the anointed.

i believe that he is now deceased.

What is the WTS up to?

i was thinking last night that the wts is acting suspicious like.

remenber the letter a few months ago to have emergency supplies ready and contact numbers ect.

then the end of religion tract, then the km on blood.

I do not think that the contributions are covering the cost of the literature. I do not think that contributions are covering the cost of the large conventions. New challenges and pressure from taxing authorities. Challenges regarding Bethel workers and if they are legally entitled to benefits. People's intetest in Wt literature opposed to interest in the internet and the information age. A growing broader view of WT doctrines by all Jws. Problems in the leadership after the death of charismatic old gb.

THe wts is tackling many problems. This is a critical time in wt history. Bethel must be downsized to a minimum. Although the congregations will continue and also some governing, legal and managing structure will also exist, The WTs printing and publishing worldwide entity may come to an end as we know it today the headquartes, the printing, the Bethel family. It is too much to handle and it is no longer needed in this information age.

THe wts can eliminate inhouse printing and job out the printing though very unlikely. Bethel service can be limited to a couple of years by younger bros. THey can even change to cd publications eliminating all of the printing altogether execept for Bibles, song books, and congregation study materials.

One thing for sure many old time Bethelites are getting pink slips and Bethel is getting smaller.

The movement will press on but the WTS structure may shrink to a minimum. Either of 2 things will unfold, the realization of wts predictions or a transformation of the movement consisting on preaching and worship, education and Bible research with a minimum officials.

What will happen to the billions of dollars? People wonder, but Bethel service as we know it will be a thing of the past.

THe OT is very clear that The Almighty has no equal. The shema dclares the oneness of God and it was unthinkable for ancient Jews to equate the true God with any other living entity. The concept of the Messiah was also known by the ancient Jews. The Messiah was to be someone annointed by God and subordianate to God but not God himself.

If God was to tell people today outright that He is not Jesus, the trinitarians would try to teach God a thing or two.

God cannot be killed. Jesus was killed. God does not learn Jesus learned. God does not worship. Jesus worshiped. God cannot be tempted. Jesus was tempted. God cannot be xalted to a higher position. Jesus was exalted to a higher position. God is not a priest. Jesus was is a priest. God is not annointed. Jesus is God's annointed. God does not pray. Jesus prayed. God killed Jesus as a sacrifice. God does not commit suicide. God cannot be bruised. Jesus was bruised. Jesus never claimed to be God almighty(killing Jesus proved that he was not almighty). Jesus claimed to be the Messiah. God is not the Messiah.

Carbon dating and the Watchtower

Jews reject carbon dating when it supports evolution or challenges what the Bible says. They also interpret the Genesis creation story to mean 24 hour days. Like jws, they admit that although guided by God's holy spirit, they too have made make mistakes in calculating, their holy men are infalible. Sound familiar?

Is ALL sin WILLFULL?

many time believers differentiate sin as willfull and non willfull.

is there a difference .....not including an honest mistake?

How can sin be wilfull if people are said to be born with an inherent inclination to sin. People have to fight against the flaw they are born with not to sin. People have no choice in matter in that they have no choice of being born with their dna holding its peculiar proclivity. Some people are lucky to be born gooody goods others are born with bad traits in their dna seems to me. But God holds everyone responsible for their actions: "Will you get the mastery of it" God's rules. He is going to do what he wants. Self righteous people presumptuously try to decide if a sin is wilful or wicked vs weakness. I domnt worruy about that anymore. I try to do my best. Thats it.
