What exploded? something or nothing? If something then what is its substance and how long did it exist before the the big bang and what caused it to explode. If nothing then how in the world can nothing explode into something and what caused nothing to become something.

Another generation....
by joey jojo init has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?
the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.
the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

this would seem to locate the gathering of this group in the last days shortly before that tribulationActs 24:15 -The WT teaches that there is going to be resurrection (on earth) of righteous and unrighteous non anointed and non gc (unless they die prematurely). Obviously, these resurrected ones are made up of people living at all points in history (except judgement and execution times) after A&E, and in spite of the heavenly calling after Jesus died.
The gc should not need a resurrection (from old age) because they should live long enough shortly before the gt.
To sum it up, we have:
1975 plus the age of eve (end of the 6000)
1914 -20 + 120 = 2014 (generation)

To JW, whether or not the gt comes within the expected time frame is moot because they have proof from God that trumps everything.

GT was expected 70 years after 1914 (when you overlap 2 lifes times it is about 100 years) -ok give it 123 years; 2017 expires.
The purpose of Jesus sign was so that his disciple would see it and be ready when he came. In the first century all the apostles were presumed dead except for John or so when 70 CE came but nevertheless the other christians experienced the GT and were ready to flee Jerusalem.
The first batch of 1914 GB generation.are dead. Why would God have those anointed wait for 100 years without some realization?
Anything after 2017 does not add up to me. A generation that dies does not need the sign. Since generation includes 2 overlapping parts, neither part should pass away away and the GT should come within a time frame experienced by both parts not just the second part because generation means both overlappers. THis generation means both parts not just the second overlappers. My guess.

Bringing children into this System of Things.
by Nihilistic Journey inbefore i left a number of years ago i remember getting bombarded with the message that we shouldn't have children as it wasn't fair to them.
they would have to grow as conditions got worse during the end.
is there anything in the literature or was this just through talks.

Hey! God allowed Adam and everybody else after him to bring children into this cruel world and many born in the 80s and 90s are JW and more JW born in 2000s. Should it not be up to God to command whether or not to multiply. (I do not mean add, divide, subtract..) -

My opinion is that if the 1914 "generation" will experience Armaggedon, generation has been stretched to the maximum limit -overlapping or not. 100 years or so maxes out generation. In 2016-2017 the rubber band breaks and if the GT does not happen then generation does not make any sense to me. IT does not make sense to me now but I want to give it a couple of years. Maybe in hind sight things will add up but I cannot figure it out now.
Just my guesses. What do I know. "Interpretations belong to God."

you will be surprised that the pattern that was followed is very similar to what happened in other dictatorial countries.. in the cuban case, i am going to surprise you and tell you that like what happened with hitler; the wt was partially responsible for their clash and confrontation with the cuban government.
during the early 60s the revolution was fighting for survival and they were willing and ready to demolish any perceived enemy to their cause.. a prime example was their war against the catholic church that was the most influential religious entity in the country; it took the supreme leader only a few public discourses to send the vast majority of clergy packing and back to their country, in this case spain.. the jehovah’s witnesses were an insignificant minority but they over estimated their importance and displayed a belligerent attitude, it was known that this was a us based religion and an easy target to connect them with the cia.

That is a lie. It is a fact that the WT is a religion.

Nope, that depends. The "Youths who put God First" Awake proves you wrong. Also, in the USA when someone is bleeding to imminent death, do you think that the 24/7 set up Court has time to decide and rule? Please post more information about these 24/7 Courts. I would like to learn about them

Can he or she still me made ward of court?
No time for that while an unconcious minor is bleeding "to death". Seems to me that a judge has the power and authority to determine that a minor is mature enough OR NOT to make such a (BLOOD) decision if the minor or child is conscious. I cannot see a hospital not request for judicial intervention to give blood to an unconscious minor. Cannot see the hospital not giving blood to an unconcious minor based upon the medical directive. Seems to me that they will -just my guess though. I dont know how legal the directive is when it affects life and death of a minor.
I have seen judges order BT TO ADULTS (how much more a child) superseding the Directive based upon Non JW family such as spouse or sibling petition . I have also seen that the Court errs when doing so... but yes, it seems to me that as tight as the directive appears to be, it can be challenged.

A fresh look at Shunning
by Giordano ini have always been opposed to the practice of shunning especially for simple mistakes, especially when someone questions the 'truth' or the gb.
or elects to speak to a shunned family member or close friend.
or violates the blood ban.. even as a practicing jw i was uncomfortable with shunning.. an article caught my attention today on ritual sacrifice.

After all a DF or DA person is considered living under a death sentence in the JW world........
I think that was is an old belief as is "spiritual leprosy" used to descibe DF. The JW refer to DF as a condition. But more accurately an unrepentant sinner because that is the only reason why anyone should be df. THe DF form s77 alludes to 777 or forgiving 77x 7.
From an objective position though, there should be some way to deal with lawbreakers in any society even in JW. DF like jail or punishment or a fine is an attempt to force a lawbreaker to comply and is it serves as a warning to deter others, otherwise you would foolishly have everyone doing whatever they wanted hurting themselves an others( based upon the related rules of conduct) without any fear of punishment.
