Anyone else hear of this?

a jw family member informed me they are filling out an application to preach the truth in israel.

interested ones in the congregation were asked to start saving now, as the cost of the flights would be their own responsibility.

the time frame for this preaching work is for a couple of weeks in may/june 2017. the applications are to be turned in this sunday.

The Jews enjoy religious freedom in the US and have been migrating to the US to seek assylum on the basis of religious freedom and are accepted with open arms to practice their religion (same as everyone else) however they like under the protection of US laws and government.

It would be a mockery of the Israeli government. The US and it's allies would be outraged if Israel did not protect US citizens and extend to them reciprocity of the same freedom of religion all Jews enjoy in the US and in other "free" nations -Not because they are (hated)JW but because they are Americans. If these rumors turn out to be true, I would be very interested to see how this religious card game plays out in "Israel", (the people having no Shomer but Caesar)and what trumps. It seems to me that Israel is going to allow Americans to practice their religion with open arms and so are the Jews in all neighborhood there.

There was no Christian neutrality back then or Paul to counsel not to become unevenly yoked with unbelivers.

is it possible that trump may play a part in the great tribulation?.

there are some who believe trump is one of the most unqualified of men to ever be elected president of the united states.

prologos, the gt excitement is not for trump . but the way I see the chess board shows 103 years invisible king, Adam is 41 yo, with no wife, heaven and earth should have passsed away or they should pass away no latter than next year or something faith strengthening should occur confirming the gt. If not, major doctrinal changes is the next move after moving to warwick. Something must give one way or the other.

Decades ago when I studied Calculus ( and I figured that I would never use that stuff) by pure chance and although not being the sharpest tool in the shed, I discovered a pattern, a short cut in solving a particular kind of problem; I remember I showed my findings to the good professor, and he was very excited about it, and put it to the test, and it failed -it was only a coincidence, but he commended me for having such a sharp eye and spotting it while everybody else overlooked it.

Those enlightened look for evidence coming from God and find it.

With JW, it is not about the evidence -it is about the promise. If an angel came down, or if the heavens opened and JW saw Isaiah's vision,or any remarkable evidence imaginable, it would not help JW faith one bit -true it would be comforting and reassuring if facing death or pain and difficult times -but to JW it aint about evidence, it is about when will relief come -and that requires faith, not evidence from God.

pon, If you have read my posts, you could tell that I can differentiate fact from delusion. Proof is the promise for relief -if that is any comfort to you. A promise without proof is putting faith in something that does not exist -don't take my word for it. It only takes a little faith to get mountains of evidence. Remember my words, please.

Smid, great point about the army. But as for God ordering his chosen to exterminate their enemies and baby snakes (offsprings of vipers) I think you would change your mind if it happened to you being kicked out of your land or killed by all grown up baby snakes. For example Amalek. I don't think you have experienced being harassed or tortured or being pinned all of your life. You need to think about this a little bit.

No, PoN. If you could only show an iota of faith, something, anything, perhaps that would be a basis for him to give you the proof you need backwards and forwards. I would not say this to you if I did not know for a fact.

Arguing with Witnesses vs Trinitarians

i have always been told as a jw that trinitarians, particularly baptists, are just the worst people to argue with out in service.

i have always been told it was the world with a veil over their eyes.

the hypocritical irony is that so many witnesses are completely stubborn and willing to believe in magic before they believe anything against their dogma.

JW do not "argue" the Trinity anymore. WT subject matter is in print for any who wish to consider JW position,and that is it.

So again Fisherman, how often do you pray that your flight will not be in winter or on a Sabbath? What mountains around Judaea are you planning to run to. Do you bring an extra Jacket with you when you do roof work?

The mountain I have always fled to is the most high: Psalms 11:1, 18:2, 62:7, 71:1-3, 91:9, 94:22, 144:2

Van, I do not see how parallels ('just as in the days of 70') do not apply in a modern day fulfillment of 70. parousia is also a parallel of of the flood as Jesus points out similarities above. That is how I see it and thanks for your post. I understand your view.
