  The liability comes from the employer putting them in a certain position and the person using that position to harm someone.

  That depends in the US. Vicarious liability means the act of the agent is the same as the act of the principal which means that the agent must be acting as an agent in some capacity for the principal to be legally responsible.For example, a municipality may not be held liable if a police officer dates a female and harms her. Just because he is a cop doesn’t make all his conduct agency conduct. It may be argued that JW elders have express authority from the WT. But it can also be argued that that authority is limited to a spiritual setting. So an entity is not always legally liable for the conduct of someone that works for them or has been given some authority to act.

  The WT is now considered liable for acts of their elders or ministerial servants

  In the US, not always. For example, an employee on his lunch break causes personal injury to someone, employer is not liable. Claimant will also have to show in each case how Defendant was acting as an agent of the vicariously liable principal—seems to me.

  Jesus and the angels would have known the day and the hour.

  Angels in heaven do not understand prophecy even if they knew the creation of Eve. It is one thing to know this and another to understand and figure out how it applies to the Messianic kingdom. For example: “ A Revelation of JC that God gave him…” So even in heaven, God gave him that information although he had other information like the creation of Eve for example that he could make use of to figure out events destined to take place. Also, what did JC mean by that “day and hour”?

  The NWT was so badly worded

  The NWT is a masterpiece of a translation compared to other Bible versions. That is my humble opinion as someone who understands other languages; For example (little) dogs in Mathew 15:27 and god referring to the Word in John 1:1.

  strange title, strange book

  Bible is s strange book too with its symbolism and allusions and irony—and the preaching work. The concept of 6000 years then another 1000 years and all the reasons, made so much sense. It was irresistible logic—same as the length of generation. A lot of people went too far with it in the way they lived their lives expecting imminent doom being too convinced in their minds, others hoped but carried on normally with their lives. Hard to let go. Even now, the idea just makes so much sense.

  religions of the world would become attacked by the governments.

  the only difference is when they go after jehovah’s witnesses, then jehovah god will step in and destroy the governments..

  It’s plausible. At some point in time the era of religion in human history with the garb and rituals and fighting and interfering with secular goals will close. The money and focus will be on government giving people a better life.

  Would a JW accused to be a murderer (in a judicial committee) be reported to the police?

  i am wondering if a jw accused to be a murderer (or any other serious crime except csa) in a judicial committee would be reported to the police.. if i sexually abused or molested a child, i would not be reported to the police.. what about if i killed a person: would i be instead?.

  it is not a matter of being right or wrong but i am only curious to know if there is at least a sort of coherence regarding the internal policies for serious crimes....

  I’m just guessing but if a JW witnessed a crime, he would report it to the authorities. However, in any religion why bother going to a priest or minister to get things off one’s conscience if the confession was going to be published to a third party or reported to law enforcement?

  How far do we get away from 1914

  how far do we get away from 1914 before they have a new light and admit it was all wrong?.

  they cling to the old theory of the 77 week prophecy from the wrong date that jerusalem was destroyed .

  with the overlapping generations nonsense still we are getting too far away from 1914. what will they say if we get to the 2030s and they still cling to 1914?.

  Hi van,

  Part of what you quoted, NHK said. About the Bible, Jesus, etc. He also said that in conversation to different people.

  I never heard him say that he doubted 1914. The opposite is true. He expressed that he was convinced about the date.

  However, I want to clarify that when he said he knew Jehovah the Bible etc., he did not say he wasn’t sure about 1914 or other beliefs. He only spoke about what he knew were true not about other beliefs being true or not true but on other occasions he expressed that he was convinced about the end of the Gentile Times.

  Absolutely not. 1914 is solidly based for JW. It even rhymes with Nissan 14. Here is a challenge, according to Mathew 1:17, how long is 14 generations?
