  Simple Question Re 1914

  wt claims that satan was thrown out of heaven in october 1914 precipitating ww!

  and the end times.

  a small problem with that is ww1 started on july 28th 1914 whilst satan was still in heaven picking his nose.. how did we not see this and waste years of precious life?

  Jews were especially expecting a Messiah around 30 CE

  The Book, the Son of Man by Emil Ludwig portrays Jesus as a dreamer but also describes the atmosphere in Jesus’s day as expecting the Messiah. —No doubt based on Daniel. Rabbinical Jews today view Daniel as Kethuvim and not as part of the Neviim. But it doesn’t matter because given the authenticity of Daniel in Dan 9:25 it predicts the Messiah in Jesus’s day. The book of Daniel is prophetic because it predicts the future kingdom of God. Not because wt says so but because many Jews were expecting the Messiah during Jesus but Jesus did not meet their expectations. Further, the Judaism that developed after 70CE does not represent the forms of Judaism that existed in the 2nd Temple era although today’s Juda ism survived from that Pharisaical Judaism. Of course after the rejection of Jesus, Jews took a stand in interpreting Bible verses that refer to him so they don’t apply to him but you can’t hide the sun with one finger.

  our worldview is dynamic and consistent with the progression of true knowledge.

  How true. And our interpretation of the Bible and of Bible prophecy is also progressive like solving a crossword puzzle. Our algorithm is to use the Bible to interpret the Bible.

  At 1 Thessalonians 4:16 the voice of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ is described as being that of an archangel, suggesting that he is, in fact, himself the archangel. This text depicts him as descending from heaven with “a commanding call.” It is only logical, therefore, that the voice expressing this commanding call be described by a word that would not diminish or detract from the great authority that Christ Jesus now has as King of kings and Lord of lords. (Mt 28:18; Re 17:14) If the designation “archangel” applied, not to Jesus Christ, but to other angels, then the reference to “an archangel’s voice” would not be appropriate.   A fortune cookie once advised:

  “To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.” —Sun Tzu, The Art of War.

  I wonder if he was inspired by the Psalm: “Go subduing in the midsts of your enemies.”? referring to Jesus Christ during his invisible presence. Whatever the source, he was in China at the time when his contemporary Zechariah wrote the words God said to Zerubbabel about 600 years later: “Not by power, not by military force, but by my spirit.”

  he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

  That is an inferior position, lesser than the Majesty. That is why he is referred to as an image, a representation OF and not the majesty itself.

  TD’s Greek is valid seems to me. But the context and the rest of the Bible suggests possession here. You need to factor in all the other scriptures.

  only begotten SON.

  “The first BORN of all creation.”

  “All things were created through him.” ( not by him)

  Obviously, in Jesus’s prehuman existence, he was the first substance God directly created ( only begotten) and all things were created through Jesus . This harmonizes with the rest if the Bible.
