  Why believe in a god?

  if you consider that the god they believe in:.

  - cannot be seen or heard and is only known in books written by writers we do not know nor do we have the original writings- does not listen to prayers from believers for security, safety, health, survival, protection, rescue, food etc- promises things that have not come true though had plenty of time to act on the promises- does not provide what you need to live- let's you suffer, struggle, work etc equal to non-believers, treated equally.

  ........ how does a believer look at his/her parents if they hide themselves, do not provide for you (shelter, food etc), make promises but never live up to these, does not provide what you need to live, treats you like anyone else but not as their child?

  at least 6 or 7 killed, dozens injured.

  single shooter on the run, police doesn't rule out more shooters.

  f you aren’t capable of violence when necessary then you will be a victim.

  Legally, when you stop being a victim legally, then you become an assailant and can be accused, prosecuted and sued. The only people that get away with violence are criminals and cops. Law abiding citizens go to jail or are compelled to pay their sweet assailant or robber or mugger or burglar or molester. If you don’t give a hoot, be ready to pay and have a lot of fun in legal proceedings justifying your violence or in jail.

  kingdom halls will be the thing of the past.. conventions (mini assembly halls will still be going on) but will charge for attending and parking and always a donation.

  elders will play a much smaller role since csa.

  cart preaching will replace door to door.

  I don’t think there are any more predicted dates by WT. Everybody is braced and in expectation. That nothing will happen is unthinkable. The core of JW will see it through even if they day of old age. Also, seems like there is expansion of media studios etc so the preaching work is full steam ahead. JW in general are not giving up the faith and people no matter how few are still coming in. JW religion is not going away.

  “1975” still marks 6000 years from the creation of adam in wt calendar.

  according to “all scriptures inspired” book, there is a gap between the creation of adam and the creation of eve and her marriage to adam.

  it was at that point in time when eve was created that marked the end of the 6th creative day and the beginning of god’s rest, the 7th day as recorded in genesis.

  For example, we saw them change the "generation" doctrine in 1995 after the previous one was shown to be wrong.

  Something has to give very very soon because generation has lost significant meaning. Remember when JW were viewed as lunatics because of the blood doctrine. I also remember Dr. Ruth Westhimmer on the radio giving dangerous advice as innocuous or not very risky—- but then all of a sudden HIV hit and JW were vindicated. I remember Howard Stern say on his show: I am JW, man. There is an intense feeling at the moment that something is going to happen. But who knows 108 years later and so many date changes as you point out.
