basically i have been reading the bible lately & doing extensive research on the web and have come across many things in my search...any imput put on various scriptures or sites i would appreciate.... .
first of all i found more than a few religions that resemble the teaching of the jw's...so can they honestly say they are the only ones with the "truth"?

Just remember: you are not alone and we have escaped a loveless, traumatizing, dysfunctional organization designed to make free thinkers feel isolated and disorientated when we leave their 'fold'. I now see the pattern every time I read the personal stories on these boards.
It's taken me a lifetime to come to these conclusions. I pray that you have an easier, quicker time readjusting to your new found freedom.

okay you guys here is my story.....it might be a lil' long winded, but please bear with me....it's interesting.... well i have been away for 8 years...i stopped when i was 17 and i'm 25 now.
it all started when i became a non baptized publisher at age 14. i was a very good speaker/reader.
the elders were waiting for me to get baptized and encouraged me to do so.

I was born into the cult and I'm STILL scraping off the crap that's been embedded in my soul! 20 years after leaving the cult, I find myself still filled with their idiosyncracies but, I address them as they come up and I rid myself of those parts of my life that I want to forget...hmm, what am I trying to say? You are at a good age [I wish I knew the truth about the 'troof' at 35]. My tool gathering ended around 32 and I awoke one day to realize I had arrived. Up to that day life to me was a rehearsal. Everything was practice and I was simply gathering tools for the day I would be a mature man...but, I digress...
After dealing with a 'cult' with everybody else worrying about 'my' spiritualty, I've learned that this is a very personal thing. None of their business! We individually have to find him...and you will. I'm convinced He's there. I went a long time without prayer and I've recently rediscovered it.
I pray for the anger to be taken away from me, that I won't be too depressed where I'm totally debilitated and unable to function. I pray that I may be successful in doing the simplest things like taking care of basic needs, dealing with people, being on time, etc. You get the picture...
Believe me, I couldn't blame you for how you feel. I've been there. And it is a process.You'll get to where you need to be, in time. What's helped me was some of Randall Watters' info. His newsletter, some of the tapes he has, has given me food for thought. IT's taken awhile [a couple of years] but I'll say again that it is a process...

i am not, perhaps because i was raised under the jw doctine but i do not view them as evil as the jw do.
for those that have not been informed i no longer believe in the jw doctrine.

I was born into the cult 1959 and 'baptised' nine years later. Left the 'troof' nearly 25 years ago but it didn't leave me until 5 years ago.
This is the first year I've had a Christmas tree. My young daughter calls it Kwanzaa/Christmas. I'm incorporating my new Biblical beliefs in our lifestyle. She's known spirituality since she could talk.
My older brothers experienced all of the holidays even when they were in the 'troof'. They always seemed to be a lot more adjusted in later years than I have ever been. What I have learned, putting aside the inaccuracies of X-mas, is this: The Borgs teachings are designed to cause feelings of alienation. I've found it hard to become a part of anything even my being a part of my own family [not to say everybody will respond the same way to alienation but, you will see the many ways it has affected xjdubs
We opened presents today and it was a joy to hear my child say how thankful she was to be together with her family. I don't claim to know much about anything but, to me, this is healthy and real.

as some of you are aware, it is hunting season right now where live.the hunters have pushed (ran the deer out of the bush's) every bush that there has to be had around here.in other word's ( for those who are not sure of what i mean) they walk all the bushes and woods to get the deer to come out to hunt and kill them.
killing the deer i have no problem with.
it's when the deer almost kill me and my family i begin to have a problem.. last night at about 11.00pm i was taking home my son's girlfriend home.
