21Why is it that a JW can't say Happy New Year?
by kls innew-years eve my husband and i went to my sister's house to bring in the new-year.
my sister knowing much about jws cornered my husband and said " happy new-year don" and he replied" yep it's a 2005".
i have been away from the bs of jwism for a long time and for the life of me i can not remember why it is wrong to celebrate a new year.

My JW mom refuses to attend my wedding!?!?!?

You are absolutely correct! In 1962 I was a JW and I got married in a Church to a non-JW! Nothing happened! Family attended with no hitches.

Adam was perfect,...Right?
by prophecor inmy wife and i were discussing adam being a perfect creation of god.
we as jw's, have always associated adam with being such, but she tosses me a curveball and does not necessairily agree to the standard jw theology.
she believes that had adam been perfect, the sins of the fathers would never have been visited upon his children, we would never have been locked out of paradise and all the ills of this world would never have been an issue.

Sis, I don't consider myself an apostate and neither should you. I'm a strong believer in a Creator not some unknown entity call God.
I have no obejections what others believe because their not answerable to me. You have expressed yourself very well and clear. The board for the most part is encouraging, so don't let the negative posts rattle you.

When you represented yourself in court, did you have an outline to follow? Dates events and witnesses are crucial in any self-defense. I'm surprise legal aid didn't come yo your defense even social services, at least them.
This is a bad situation especially for the kids. It's going to have a damaging effect on them. I don't know what you do when you have the kids with you, but, its to your advantage to stay encouraging and avoid the topic of mommy.
Yesterday I learned of a terrible family experience. To make a long story short, an emotional damaged 20 year-old caused havoc and luckily no one was physically injured. The young man had been neglected emotionally as a child and it shows by his actions.
Yes, it hurts. If you believe in prayer, use it. A women just the other-day told me that she depended on prayer to pull her through.
I can only hope everything works out for you. Stay the course and hopefully the forum has been a source of encouragement.
