How many people do you *truly* hate?
by Nosferatu ini can honestly say that there aren't many that i truly hate.
however, there is a small list.
it used to contain only two people, but a third is making it's way on that list.

The words I would substitute are, sad and pity. Hating someone only wastes energy, this energy that can be used for positve purposes. One of the secrets in golf competition is not to dwell on errant shots. I've witnessed many positive minded golfers make awesome recovery shots.

Do you know any JW's that were Disfellowshipped or Reprooved over 3 times?
by booker-t ina girl i work with told me the other day that she is going to the elders and ask them to "reinstate" her for the 4th time.
i told her she must be out of her mind.
why would any jw go through all of that headache?

Being sports minded, three strikes your out. You already offered sound suggestions. We can only hope she responds to them. Guest77

NMM, just finished reading your news article and it reminded me of the book I read by the former priest Charles Chiniguy, you both came to the same conclusion "We have been listening to the teachings of men and not the teachings of God." Guest77

All I can say is, you have experience on your side now. Learn from these experiences, and as someone said, someone or something will come along to make you happy and content. Guest77

Confession of sin and the watchtower
by little witch inhi everyone, it has been awhile since i have visited and i just wanted to share a few thoughts with you today on the topic of confession of sin.
for those who have never attended a church, i will explain the view of 'christendom" on the matter.
church for most christian denominations is a place of healing and recharging of the spirit.

Kenneson, you say, "...Chiniguy truthful?" Am I to understand that the sources or site you mention are 'truthful? Do you remember the Galileo incident? Just when did the Church eventually changed their mind about the earth revovling around the sun? Now, who was truthful, the pope of Rome or Galileo? That's on page 50 of the book. Why didn't you cite that portion about someone being truthful? Though Galileo recanted to save his neck, he did say, "This will not prevent the earth from moving!"
As a former Catholic in my early early days, my brothers and I challenge the priest about doctrinal matters and the best answer he would give us was, it's a MYSTERY! So isn't Santa Claus and the Easter bunny a mystery!
I believe the topic of this discussion is about confession.

My expectations of the news these days is to wait and listen to the absurd! This story reminds me of the school teacher in Massachusetts a few years ago. I'm quite sure there's more stories out there that doesn't get into the news. My community has stories that will shake your head. Guest77

Studying the new "Keep on the Watch!" brochure - page 19 Never Good Enough
by ozziepost inas we progress through the brochure, we've gone past the deception of the introduction and now comes "will you benefit?
page 19 reads: the crucial question is, are we making the needed adjustments in order to be counted worthy to be a part of that "new earth" under the "new heavens"?.
if you believed watchtower theology you would believe that god accepts you only if you do works for him.

Ozzie, this reminds me of the scripture at Proverbs 30:15,16: "The (leeches) have two daughters that cry: Give! Give! There are three things that do not get satisfied, four that have not said: "Enough!" Sheol and a restrained womb, a land that has not been satisfied with water, and fire that has not said: "Enough!"
