Were having our Turkey dinner tonight. My mom and daughter who are witnesses will be over, its a family affair, none of this crap as to who believes what or what group one is associated with, this is a family matter! I'm very lucky because we as a family make it happen. Everyone lives their separate lives and everyone minds their own business. No leftovers tonight, fresh turkey and good spirits. Guest77

Name ways in which JW's don't serve God

malachi 3:18

then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth god and him that serveth him not.. this verse says that if we don't serve god, then we are wicked..... from a jw point of view, if we don't preach with them and follow whatever they do, then we are wicked.

but there are so many ways of serving god, that they don't even do themselves.

JH, in the context of that scripture it does define the righteous and the wicked. In Verse 5 he says, "...and I will become a speedy witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against those swearing falsely, and against those acting fraudulently with the wages of a wage worker, with the widow and with the fatherless boy, and those turning away from the alien resident, while they have not feared me..." The moral conditions of the Nation was at a low. How many times were they punished because of their immoral conduct, and in the process the innocent suffered? Name ways in which JW's don't serve God? 1 Tim. 5:8, "Certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith." 1 Peter 3:7, "You husbands continue dwelling in like manner with them according to knowledge, assigning them honor as to a weaker vessel, the feminine one, since YOU are also heirs with them of the underserved favor of life, in order that your prayers not to be hindered." James 1:27, "The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation,..." Romans 2:21,"...do you however the one teaching someone else not teach yourself?..." Since they claim to be a Bible based organization, these are the scriptures I would use. has been in league with business etc etc living off its profits and all that, should jws set up in business?

I've had my business for thirty-five years, (not cleaning either.) I also have side-line business. One of my sons has his own business. I've always encouraged people to have their own business, just count the cost. I must say, we had more rope back in the forties and early fifties being a JW, at least I did. Guest77

Deja Vu?

do you ever experience "deja vu" - the feeling of having experienced the exact same moment before?

sometimes this happens to me - usually when it happens i can vaguely remember having a dream about it, and sometimes i can remember exactly what is going to happen next because the dream is so vivid (funny...when i remember the dream, i can remember thinking "this is going to happen...i remember this too..." deja vu of deja vu???).

does anyone know anything about deja vu or have any explanations?

CHRISTMAS WOES

most of you know i'm the one with all the religion woes..(ie....finding one...ha) anyways, i did all this research on christmas being that i was brought up not believing in it and found that it really does have pagan roots in a big way so i can't decide if it's ok to do it if i do it for jesus' birthday even tho now i know that it wasn't started that way and all this bad air is around it and i get scared i am deliberately doing something against god and that's detestable to him.....ahhhhhh.. i know he wasn't born in winter, i know we don't know when he was born....so is it ok for me to get presents on a day that used to be used to worship some pagan sun god when they would hang pine boughs all over their house.

doesn't that make it bad?!
