Moral ethics - how would you decide?
by ozziepost intonight on cnn was an interview with an anguished mother visiting thailand who was unable to find her missing daughter.. when the tsunami waves hit they became separated and now was frantically searching for news of her.
in her heart she knew she had died but wanted (needed) to know of her fate.. when interviewed she was about to board her flight back to sweden.
we could feel her pained heart as she told her story.. but now what would you have done?

In 2015....
by Gill inin only ten years the generation of 1914 will be well and truly gone so what then for those left still waiting for armageddon.
i'm thinking of friends and relatives here, and feeling sorry that they're wasting more time in the cult and that life's too short for that.
what's the chances of they're seeing sense in the near future?

Gill, the only dates I adventure in, is with my wife. At least I know the day and hour when the date will be!

I don't celebrate holidays, and other "reformed JW" things about me........
by WingCommander inwhile i don't agree with the wt's views on shunning, blood transfusions, or how they conduct themselves, i can honestly say i wouldn't celebrate holidays even if i felt like it.
maybe it's that i've been brought up jw, i dunno.
halloween is sort of fun, but i know of it's pagan origins.

WC. Being a JW never stopped from playing sports. In fact, I never got any flack. I've always stoodup for what I personally believed in, JW or not. It surprises me to learn how others have been treated within their respective congregations, denied and deprived of a 'natural'life.
Sports, traveling, my culture and being in the ironworkers trade has given me a different mind-set, I'm glad for it.
Plenty of my community members say the same about about hoildays, a nuisance.
Welcome aboard.

Unbeliever, I'm with you. I did say that to my wife, I liked the first one. I was happy to see my wife laughing, her mom was with us by the way, she's a weekly moviegoer.

Peggy welcome and greetings. I heara loud and clear! Let me say, it gets better as time goes along, just be patient and let time be your friend.
Your complaints are justifiable, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Destiny is in OUR hands what we do with it depends on us. I like your straight forwardness. By all means share some experiences with us. I wish you all the best.

Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Striesand did a great job. Oh, don't leave when 'The End' appears on the screen, there's a small tid bit left. -

Have you re-read the bible since leaving the Kingdom Hall?
by Eyebrow2 ini always wanted to re-read the bible after i left the org; to be able to read it without having to feel like i had to apply something, or to have to read it out of obedience, etc.... well, i have always liked the new world translation, i know it isn't perfect, but i think it is better than some.
but i have always wanted to get a different modern english translation, and read that.
well, i finally picked up a new international version at wal-mart the other day...under $6, what a bargain.. started last night, and finished genesis today, and am just starting into exodous.

Eyebrow2, it's very interesting reading. You have to read the book as it gives you another perspective. Nothing like viewing an issue from a different angle.
