by UncleI ini stumbled across this forum today as i was looking for information online as it relates to johnny carson and the whole john denver thing that was spread around years ago.
it's no surprise that i cant find a single thing on it on the web as i always thought it was an urban legend.
just angers me that things like that spread around and so many people just accept it as truth because a brother or sister told it to them.

JW's are so quick to judge those who leave
by unbeliever inmajor shock i know.. i called mom back and told her she better get her facts straight.
telling people that someone abandoned their own children is a very serious accusation.
that really pissed me off.

Good move unbeliever. There is so much gossip and rumor that floats around such people that they need to be reminded, hey, get your facts straight!
This may be a good opening to talk to your mom about the org not preaching and getting their facts straight. Worth a try.

Why did I leave after 50 yrs a JW
by londoner ini am not posting this to justify my actions, i am doing so for the benifit of any witnesses who are unsure about there feelings toward the "truth".
i was a reguler pioneer for about 8 yrs, back when it was 100 hours a month, befor thet i did a couple of yrs as a vacation pioneer, they later changed the name to auxilery pioneer, and during the following 20 yrs i had a few intermitant spells as an auxilery when i had time to.
during my pioneer years i have given talks at circuit assemblies and had assignments at district assemblies .

Fainting Goats!

me either.. yip....these goats actually faint when startled and look like they have rigor- mortise when they fallm over.
after a few seconds....they get up all dazed lookin.

Respect - what is it?
by Norm inaretha franklin sings about respect and the word is frequently used in all languages.. the definition of the word can be : respect, esteem, regard -- (an attitude of admiration or esteem, held in esteem).
many people seem to think that respect automatically follows a position or office, like for instance a president, a bishop, a prime minister or similar lofty titles.
others hold that respect has to be earned and shouldn't be automatic and points to the often obvious fact that some people holding high offices often show themselves to be utter bastards and corrupt crooks that deserves no respect.

by JH infor many, religion is the root of terrorism and war.
since the beggining of creation or evolution, mankind is at war not only for religious reasons, but economical ones too.
oil is a good example.

Who and what will bring brought a one world government? In the early fifties the UN used US military men to carry out their exercises in the US. A number of soldiers would not submit to wearing UN uniforms.

Lawyers Who Deal With Disfellowshipping
by dh inis there a directory of lawyers who have experience in helping jw's with judicial df'ing issues?
what i mean by helping, is a lawyer who knows the df procedure, and will inform the elders that he/she will be attending the judicial meeting with the person etc.
if the elders refuse point blank to allow it, then a lawyer who knows how to pressure them so that they cannot announce the disfellowshipping or ever speak about it, as it would be slander would be very useful.. i think that there should be (may already be) lawyers out there who up to speed on this, and if they aren't, they should be brought up to speed by us, the ex jw community on what to expect from judicial meetings, and on the whole jw procedure of disfellowshipping etc.

The wording on the baptism question about org. gives them the power to disfellowship you. The org makes sure their protected against lawsuits, so, they inserted the org. in their baptism questionaire. Your baptism date is recorded. Don't forget, they have a battery of lawyers too.

I'm beating myself up today....
by BrendaCloutier inwe're getting ready for vacation so i'm doing that odd-ball stuff that needs to be done.
i'm walking into the bedroom with my suitcase, catch it on the doorframe, and it puches me in the gut and knocks me to the floor.
my gut and ribs are still sore 3 hours later!
