i thought i made it clear when i stated that i am no longer one of jehovah's witnesses anymore and that i am on your side.

Wife's weight problem

before getting married, my wife was slim and took care of herself.
after the wedding however, she started to eat much more and not exercise.

I don't think anyone in their right mind wants their wife or girlfriend to be unhealthy about being thin, like anorexic or bulimic. It's only natural to prefer that your S/O to be healthy and in shape.
But to demand it or threaten her over it, that's another thing entirely. Or to withhold affection from your children by taking every opportunity to express your obvious dissapointment, that's really just the use of emotional blackmail to get what you want out of someone else.
Somebody said staying in shape for women is equal to being gainfully employed for men. So, that's like saying the only value a woman has is looking good for her man. Nice.
I know people think this way, but it always blows my mind to see them say it.

Good for you. I'm happy for you. I see you have learned a lot from the Witness business. Learned how to be really judgemental and use falacious arguments, as can be seen from the the FMZ thread you had your panties in a twist about. Evidently, you feel that FMZ smoking weed proves his REAL reason for leaving the Witnesses is because he didn't want to follow the rules anymore, ignoring whatever evidence may exist against JWs. I think that's an argument they like to use, too.

The impression I get from your posts on this thread, and in general, is that you are one big personal pity party, only focused on the personal hell you are going through. *** I don't like the meetings, poor me. I wish they would just change and relax their "standards" already, so I wouldn't have to deal with these problems. *** Obviously there are still many things you like about the witnesses, and they seem to revolve around their judgemental ways.
Whether they change their tune and go easy on everybody or whether they tighten their grip over their current members doesn't change the fact that it's all predicated on bullshit. For me, that's enough to know I'm never going to want any of it. But that's just me. I guess I just don't understand why anyone would be ok with being lied to, as long as the lies don't get in your way or cause any inconvenience.

I told her that if she got fat, I would be gone. I have no intentions of introducing a fat wife to my friends and business people.
Wow that statement proves my case so perfectly. He cares more about appearances than about people. I'm guessing he doesn't have any fat friends either.
I'm sure not everyone is this way and most people really care about their mate's health along with wanting them to stay reasonably attractive. I can understand having health concerns about an overweight wife or husband, that's one thing. Ask yourself if they were doing something else that jeopardized their health, like drinking too much, or smoking, or whatever, if that would drive you as crazy as if they were getting fat. Your answer would really tell you if you really gave a fat damn about your mate at all.
The types of people that feel such a strong hatred for fat people are basically hateful people looking for some reason to hate people anyway. After all, it's not politically correct to hate a person over their skin color anymore, is it? Or maybe they just need somebody to look down upon, make themselves feel a little bit better. I feel kind of sorry for these people, especially if the skinny girl they end up with makes them miserable in so many other ways. They act like fat people have committed a crime against humanity or something.
Usually with these types, they can look the other way about drunk driving and other things people to themselves that actually do hurt other people.

It's all about trophies for guys. They care more about what other guys think of their women than anything. If they can't walk in the door with a hot little thing, they aren't too happy about going out. Beauty is one thing, most guys don't have the $$ to have a truly beautiful girlfriend. So, having a skinny girlfriend is what they are shooting for. If there's anything I get a laugh out of it's seeing a guy out with a beautiful thin girl, but being miserable because she's obviously a real bitch. Why do they do this to themselves? The payoff must be there somewhere. It's when they can make the other guys think they are the shit for having a skinny girlfriend.

One thing I learned from my years as a JW was how effective it is to say... "We're not interested." and "We don't want any." (that one was always my favorite!).
Do I stand alone looks a little bit desperate with this next plea for gullible ex-JWs. How sad. He might have complimented us on how well trained we are now, and how computer savvy! but I guess flattery gets you nowhere, huh. The only thing I'm hearing here is Do I Stand Alone figures if we fell for the Watchtower scam, we're a bunch of gullible idiots who will line up to give him our money.
We don't want any. You do stand alone.

For somebody who claims to have no bad feelings whatsoever about the watchtower, it seems like a contradiction you decided to look into JWD in the first place. How's the time coming this month? Are they going to let you stay an MS? Hope so.
