Once a cheater always a cheater?
by Aalena ini caught my boyfriend of 8 years cheating on me about a month ago.
he claims it is the only time he has ever cheated and he never thought he would ever cheat nor would he ever do it again.
some of my friends are upset at me saying i should have left him immeditately.

Love is built on (among other things) trust, and once the trust is broken or betrayed, the love can never burn as bright as it once did. Forgiving your mate won't fix the basic underlying problem, or restore the trust and love- I'd move on and find someone you can trust- but it's obviously your call.

Hip-hip, cheerio, there, mate-
It's all in good fun. Bad food (bangers and mash, blood pudding, etc (alright, Yorkshire pudding and Fish & Chips are the exception)), bad cars ( OK, one exception- Jaguars became immensely better when Ford took over and introduced TQC concepts, and replaced that darn Loral-made electrical system), and bad teeth (yes, it's a stereotype, and a funny one, too- look at Austin Powers (notice Dr-Evil's contrasting lovely smile ;-)) and that awful Cockney mumble!
Sure, you've got all that history, what with the Thames, St Peters, Tower Bridge, etc, but you've also got the Royal Family- Oh, very nice. King and Queen, eh! I expect they've got a palace and fine clothes and courtiers and plenty of food. And how d'you get that, Queen?
By exploiting the workers! By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the social and economic differences in your society! If there's EVER going to be any progress ... I mean, if I went around saying I was an Emperor because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, people would put me away!And bad comedy (Monty Python excepted).................

It has been said already, yet I'll say it again:
One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter or invader, etc.
What makes the radical Islam version of Terrorism so different?
It's goal- not political change, but death to all unbelievers.
That is what makes this version of terrorism different- there is no way, short of fundamental pschological change of Islamist fundamentalism, to remedy the threat in the long term.
In the short-term, war (in all forms) will be waged against aiders and abettors of this form of terrrorism, which in the broad sense includes many Middle Eastern and even some non-ME countries.
In the long term, however, radical, fundamentalist Islam's teachings must be spoken out against in a wholesale manner by mainstream Islam, and effectively halted. That is the core cause of the problem.
So the comparison between the IRA and Islamist Terrorists is fundamentally wrong.
