I don't doubt it. Or might the searchers be checking to see if some other kind of white powdery material that is biological was mixed with the sugar? I believe there is a new method to test for bio-active presence, but it is not widely known or used just yet by security. Some news accounts are that papers discovered in Afghanistan hideouts of the Al Qaeda (spelling?) indicated their interest in destroying part of the financial area of greater London. So it does appear that after the U.S., Great Britian is targeted. People in the States are still much on guard as well, and all need to stay on high alert. Yes, including Ozzie mates!

Amnesian, we'll just have to wait and see. Meanwhile I hope people don't try to rag Bill to death about when, when, when. He's suffered a lot from the Watchtower toadies harassing and threatening him as it is. The WTS's covering up child molestation and other things that show its not a real spiritual "paradise" is a story already out of the bag. Dateline, the internet etc has time enough.... In his In Search Of Christian Freedom, Ray Franz said he didn't he that things like voting or the UN's working for world peace were unChristian. And in terms of speculation, which is all that is offered here anyway, I believe as said he is only mildly interested in the UN liason thing.
Bill Bowen recently said the Watchtower Society had threatened to expose that Bill had been deleted as an elder for 1-2 years, even though Bill explained this was because he had had the nerve to not go along with "something" a Circuit Overseer was wanting him to do which he felt would have compromised his - Bill's - standard of staying honest and holding onto his integrity.
At least as far back as William Schnell who wrote Thirty Years A Watchtower Slave, Schnell mentioned that then President of the Watchtower Society JF Rutherford kept a file on Schnell with dirt in it that was actually distortions of facts on the order of "I'm told that you like to kiss them girls in the congregations, William."
After Ray Franz was given the boot, the WTS mentioned in a Daily Text that some high up officials had been into homosexuality and engaged in "wife-swapping."
My guess is the WTS may have trumpted up, false stuff they have hung over Ray Franz, threatening him with it, just as true from the time of Schnell all to way to this very second. Franz knows they keep such dirt handy and that that is all that it is -- distortions, lies, perversions, but he is tired of the nonsense.
At age 85 he has other priorities now, like his family and preparing to meet his Grand Creator. He knows that younger persons are coming forth to do battle with the dragon. He had helped that dragon out of ignorance when he wrote The Truth That Leads To Everlasting Life ("the blue bombshell"), served as editor-compiler of the AID book precursor to the Insight volumes etc; but sincerely sought to make up for it with Crisis Of Conscience and In Search Of Christian Freedom.
His ISCF book blue-printed, predicted and in various ways helped spark the rise of the "Free Christians" movement that continues even now. We are indebted to Ray Franz, and if there are things he does not or can not freely reveal about the WTS even now, then we understand, and regardless wish him well.

It was said that a Dateline person said before end of Dec 2001, but it was not an absolute guarantee in writing. Be patient. But even if they didn't air it some competitor like CBS could. It has already made it into Christianity Today, the UK's Guardian newspaper, all over the internet, and I believe it will indeed be aired by Dateline NBC if not this week then in January. Randy, speak also with Stephan Wolf who speaks both German and English. He runs the sewolf.com/infolink German site and has spoken about how German Bethel has done things to dodge paying mandatory unemployment etc there. They are desperate to cut expenses, and Stephan has also had an article in the past telling of there hauling in mass groups from Africa and Japan to work for Germany's Bethel, I suppose because this way they dodge paying in to a workers' fund as they would have to do so if the workers were German nationals. He has had and may still have some good inside sources there.

Yes, lots of revelations out there coming back to haunt them from them "apostates" like the coroner whose death certificate for JF Rutherford clearly says he died of cancer of the RECTUM. He, Chitty and Greenlees sure were characters there in the inner circle. Maybe Sydlik, Barber and others would care to comment? Sydlik's wife and her fellow who got axed at the writing desk. It says Joseph Franklin Rutherford of the Watchtower Society died of CANCER of the RECTUM. Hmmm, what usually causes such cancer in such a place, the rectum being the outer part of the anal canal? He was the Watchtower Society's President after Russell and spent months if not years away from his wife and their only son, mostly in the company of male friends in the Watchtower Society's Bethel headquarters in Brooklyn, New York. The precise causes for their alienation have never been disclosed but maybe this is a clue? The rectal cancer was the main cause though he also had cancer in the pelvis. It must have been painful at times. Farkel, you should send a copy of this to Randy and Kent ( [email protected], [email protected]) maybe headed Proof Rutherford Died Of Rectal Cancer! Things aren't always what they seem in the Watchtower inner circles. I wonder if Dan Sydlik and Carey Barber for example would care to comment. Or maybe Dan Sydlik's wife and the guy who worked at the writing desk?? How about Milton Henschel's other knights?

It says "earth" not "planet" was covered. Earth as in the land of the Middle/Near East or even more localized is a possibility the Bible itself does not preclude. Don't put words in the Bibles mouth that others try to put there.
