  got more information recently.. brooklyn bethel is downsizing , bigtime.. first, they are moving a lot of printing out of brooklyn.

  and into "regional" branches, perhaps closer to where.

  the material is distributed.

  Most JWs sense something is amiss. Since they can't quit without losing their ties to JW family and friends they let it be known the only other way they can: cutting money in the donation boxes.

  Some have said donations have gone down as much as 50% since Armageddon didn't come when predicted and tax laws forced the Watchtower Society to tell members to stop asking for specific book and magazine donation amounts.

  They can always outsource printing to private businesses run by other JWs. There must be some gleeful former CO's and DO's chomping at the bit for that money!

  Alternatives to JWs

  since there are new people coming to this board on fairly regular basis with questions about the jw religion, i thought i'd pose this topic.. many, upon leaving the organization, don't really know where to turn for guidance.

  "look to yourself" doesn't really cut it when you've been told how to think your whole life.. many choose atheism, which is fine.

  however, for those still looking for a religion, here is a site that lists many of the worlds major religious movements.

  Here's a link to an egroup for exJWs and others whose main uniting belief is in ACTIVE LOVE AND KINDNESS although many to most are nontrinitarian, believe hellfire is not literal, and resurrections is on earth for some and to heaven for others. The movement is called simply the Christians or descriptively the Free Christians. The Jah Christians are just one Bible reading/study group within it, but the group puts out the Free Christians News 2-3 issues per week via

  The newsletters often have articles promoting Christian Freedom per Romans 14:1-5. Those who get the newsletter are under no obligation to join anything. They are welcome to simply read the articles and retain their most current belief systems, however they prefer. To get the free subscription just go to the link. Besides the news service there are other also free services such as epenpals by state, province, nation. Although Unitarians sound attractive you may not know upfront that they view Christ as simply a good man, and many of their congregations are dominated by atheists and pagans.

  Dung, you chose your own screen name so don't say I called you a name. Ditto for "Saint Satan" and Plum Krazy. The suicide information came from ajwrb.org and is correct. As regards the "JM" case that came from another party whose email I won't give you although I have kept a copy in case anyone tried anything real dumb. In the future any emails from me to you will have copies made of them. I told you in the emails to you to which you did not respond precisely what I have said here. My posting the suicides appears to be a great thing since it has caused you who do appear so pro-Watchtower to scream about it. Come on, scream some more. The more you do the more I'll post for that indicates pay dirt. Big Mama Watchtower is so unhappy that the blood of innocents her policies have driven to suicide is coming back to haunt her. Well, I'm delighted! Keep it up. Keep it up. Your baloney motivates rather than dampens my spirit!

  Besides which Bill brings up a different topic too, namely that for 30 some years JW adult women and girls have had to "scream" when being raped in order to not be disfellowshipped.

  This is insane for often a female being raped is too petrified with fear to scream. And doing so can indeed get her throat cut. Where is the Watchtower's common sense?

  The Bible says that screaming would be a proof of her own inocense but not that it had to be done without weighing other factors. The Bible is flexible and mentally well-balanced. So Milton Henschel and company, why not use your own brains on this.

  Bill, I hope you blow them away on this scream-when-raped scandal too. The Watchtower organization is FULL of battered women and little girls.

  Bill, do you think it would be helpful if we sent emails to Dateline urging them to get the documentary aired sooner than later? I'm guessing the Bryant murders/suicides caught their attention and they are investigating those in connection with the pedophile coverups. I'm confident they will air the documentary or it would boomerang when 60 Minutes picked up the ball that they dropped and told how they let down the victims.

  My email is [email protected] and I did email you twice asking you tell me what you needed. Most all the suicide info came from ajwrb.org, so Mr Dung, what are you calling wrong?

  I am part of a fellowship that permits those of other belief systems to fellowship; is that actually a "new" religion, Mr Satan? We call it being Christians, or part of the Free Christians movement.

  Attending a Real Memorial

  mrs ozzie and i have just returned home after celebrating the lord's evening meal in the manner of that first night 2,000 years ago.. we gathered together with 'authentic' foods of the time and then showed how the passover was celebrated with the bread and wine.

  why we even had the bitter herbs!.

  then we shared as a group of about 40 in the communion.. then, just as those early disciples did, we sang a song of praise to our lord.

  Better question, what happens when they defeat themselves?

  They will not vanish in total; wierder groups have survived

  They not only will but already have splintered. Have you not heard of the True Faith JWs who began in the 1950s in Romania and are spreading to the West? The Bible Students who split in 1917? Tons of different groups.

  If you are an exJW or one considering exiting but not wanting to join one of the other churches or another sect, why not just join our fellowship of exJWs and friends from all belief systems who fellowship (are friends in spirit or spiritually) based on LOVE instead of forced sameness of beliefs, though many do still believe in resurrection for some on earth and others to heaven etc though rejecting the WTS misleadership, the dangerous health misinterpretations, formal disfellowshipping etc?   WT does NOT own "Military Stock"

  i thought this deserved its own thread...below is a reply a made to one of the previous threads ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=24473&site=3 ) and i am anxious for someone to refute it...or maybe i'm right.. not quite...it seems everyone is muddling the details on this.. it seems that james mccann, who donated the stocks to the wt, invented an improved rotary engine called a rand cam engine.

  his company, the rand cam engine corp is a privately held company, but he has donated 50% of the stock to the wt (but retained the voting proxy so the wt has no say in what is going on), he owns 34% and the balance is owned by several shareholders.

  this company is half owner of another company called rand energy group.
