You say they'll control the "old people" but actually it is death that will do that because right now many of those who converted to being members in the 1970s as a result of the Armageddon scare and the seeming logic of the little blue "Truth" book are baby-boomers going into their 50s, a time when heart attacks and the like begin to take a toll. Their only hope for not vanishing in numbers is to keep getting new converts in particular from Brazil.

British Empire and JWs
by badboy ini understand from a tape of a jw meeting owned by my mother that an elder asked at a meeting about which empire was represted(sp) by a lion or something like that so a jw we know said british empire and said something like the british empire was mentioned in the bible(possibly something to do with book of daniel or something like that.. anyone know anything about this?

A 1994 Awake has the Watchtower Society commending the UN, many Awakes quote UN branches like UNESCO and WHO, and the UN itself still has a link to a page including the 1994 Awake as an example of support. So much for the book report lie.

by razorMind ini don't post here much, but i hope this makes some sense.... my aunt (my mom's sister) was born & raised a jw, though grandma's always been one of the more "lax" jws.
(more tolerant, much less fanatical than are my mom and dad).
though the "jw way" was very anti-college then, she took advantage of further education, got a great-paying job, and is now quite wealthy.. she is married to an "asshole" type jw--who likes to spy and get others in trouble, gets joy out of shunning df's...that type.
