    Yesterday I posted this: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=25490&site=3

Last night, the PO called me, because I had left a message for him. He was also very nice, and said he would tell the elders what I said, and he would come visit Mom on Saturday. He also said he had no problem with Mom living here, and that it actually took a lot off of them.

The man at Patterson had asked me to call back this morning, to tell him what I had learned from the elders, and if I had told them what he had said.

So, I called, and he was still really nice, and friendly, and said if I talked to an elder again, to tell him that the elders are the ones who have to take the lead in visiting Mom. If they don't visit her, they can't expect others in the congregation to visit either.

    Well there you go!

The guy at Patterson sounds really nice. Pretty much how a Christian should be.

Send you prayers and good vibes.

Kudos to you, Mulan. I hope that they do follow up with visits to your mom.

When my mother had a severe stroke, I had no choice but to put her in a nursing home. I contacted people in both her home congregation and in the congregation that was closest to the nursing home, asking that the elders visit her in the nursing home. No one bothered.

It angered me that someone could be a loyal Witness for over 40 years, and then they are totally forgotten by their "brothers" and "sisters" when they are no longer able to sell magazines for the corporation.

    So much for "Christian love".

I hope that it works out better for your mom. ****HUGS****

This is a very common accusation from silly apostates. The Watchtower and Awake are very informative. Most of the donations come from the Witnesses themselves. Very seldom do Witnesses mention the donations to the householders. I asked my wife about this and she told me that 95% of the time the witnesses never mentions the donation arrangement.

The truth is that it takes money to print and produce the huge amount of publications that Witnesses use and distribute. The point is that no one is forced to donate by passing a little plate from person to person. If the person's heart compells him to donate he can discreetly go to one of the donation boxes at the rear of any Kingdom Hall and donate.

Ahh - An even better arrangement. The WTBTS wholesales the mags/books(does the cheesy crap they printeven qualify as 'books' anymore?)/etc to the publisher. The publisher is too timid to ask for $$$ from people. Either way the WTBTS doesn't give a crap, they've been paid!

The Watchtower and Awake are very informative
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!! Now that's the funniest thing you've said in quite a while. Even most JDubs can't stand to read all the drivel in the Witchpower and Asleep mags. I used to be able to read an entire mag in 5 mins. And tell you the 'main points' of each article. Now that must be some deeeeeep material!

You gotta love how, when a JW is pinned down, they call you a name ("silly apostate" -MavMan).
I'm an active JW. I stand by my point that JW's DO sell literature.
It is NOT done on a voluntary donation basis in every country around the globe!
And, how good of a Witness is your wife if she ISN'T asking for donations more than 5% of the time?
Silly wife married to a silly, DF'd MavMan.
I shouldn't even be talking to you until your butt gets reinstated!
    LOL!
