Just thought I'd give this one more shot to the top. Maybe it was so bad that no one wanted to comment on it--I agree with that. How many of you all still get these dopey forwards from ones who know you are out of the Org?

Another weird JW forward that drives me further away
by cyber-sista inok, so all the jws know i am "inactive" now.
now, as we all know, this is not a term that means lack of physical exercise, but that jw term you get labeled with when you are not participating any longer in jw activities (spiritually weak and sick or "discouraged" are other terms used when applied to others in my situation.
) one of the prices i must pay for being away is the well meaning encouragment i recieve in emails such as the one below, which i recieved today.

I was a second rate JW (sister with an unbelieving mate) and believe you me many of us were second rate citizens in the congo. Even though I had a very nice hubby who treated me very well and is/was a very decent and kind human being--I was still poor sister so-in-so who had to "endure" being married to an unbelieving mate. Though I became a JW after I had been married for a while I was always considered "spiritually weak" because of this un-natural union. It was the "cross" I had to bear. One elder told me that "being married to an unbeliever was like Jesus being married to Satan." (Brother-not-so-encouraging) I noticed the sisters who got the most respect were the ones who were abused by their unbelieving husbands. I think this is because they could claim true martyr status because of it. Having a good marriage to an unbeliever didn't fit the image the WT wanted to put out. Otherwise, I tried to be kind and merciful to everyone and to practice the fruits of the spirit in my life. I was a low hour publisher---never really felt totally connected with the Org--thought there was something wrong with me--or it was just my lot in life. What kind of a witness was I? Looking back I can see now I was a very depressed witness.

Resurrection of husbands, wives.
by dothemath inat the district convention.......we had a very touching experience of an elder who lost his wife fairly recently.
his comments gave the distinct impression he was going to be reunited with her in the new system............"jehovah is opening his hand and satisfying the desires of every living soul".......is the scripture he focused on.. that's certainly understandable.......i'm sure any of us in the same situation would feel similiarly.......but.......there was certainly no mention of the fact that those resurrected would be "as angels in heaven"(matt.
22: 30), and would no longer be given in marriage.. this is a topic i think the society is steering clear of........you have to go back quite a few years to see it commented on in detail.

Then what about a brother or sister who loses their mate and then remarries?. What will happen when their marriage mate gets ressurrected and finds out their mate is remarried? What if an unbelieving marriage mate gets ressurrected? I remember one sister who was glad there would be no marriage in the new system because she didn't like her husband and thought that since there would be no marriage in the new system there would be no sex and she was happy about that.
Sounds like the new system is one big giant soap opera coming to the the JWs sometime real soon now--well maybe--just be patient now--they don't really know the day or the hour--but stay tuned to the Organization channel for many many more further details and instructions.

Older sisters and long hair- now a no-no?
by Sadie5 inran into a jw yesterday who didn't mind talking to me.
she is 50+ and wears her hair long, about to the middle of her back.
she said she's been told by the brothers to cut her hair, that women her age should have short hair styles.

I heard this one time in a talk years ago by an older brother who had just married a ver young sister. He said it was up to the husband what length their wives hair was. He had something against long hair because it could be thought of as being counter culture (referring to hippie or something of that sort) His young wife had short hair and looked rather miserable I thought.

The Society is just made up of imperfect humans, and they make mistakes. Absolutely true. And if it's true, then don't ever claim to be speaking for God.
After I had been beat down by local elders and "stumbled" out of the Org one of them came to me, not exactly admitting they were wrong, but said "I know you have been stumbled, but were imperfect too." This is after the elders tried to force me to obey there insane rules telling me they had been appointed as judges for Jehovah and had Jehovah's spirit behing their decisions. Others said things like "Jehovah uses imperfect people to run his Organization, so we can expect there will be problems. You just have to hang in there like the faithful Jews did in Jesus's day. They continued to obey the Pharisees, because at that time they were Jehovah's chosen people on this earth." -

Do You Think We Are Helping Witnesses Get Out Thru This Forum?
by minimus ini am curious , especially since we have so many new ones here, as to how many actually left the organization because of this board or others similar to it.
i certainly would hope that we are making a dent in the jw organization by what we do here......,

All I can say as it helped me a lot. I was in a really bad state of mind when I landed here. Didn't want to be a JW anymore, but didn't know how not to be a JW anymore. I was living in a surreal world and was in a very bad state of mind (thought I was losing it totally) But thanks to the JWD and some counceling (I would say the JWD was about 80% of my recovery and the 20% was the councelor) I have landed. It was a rather painful landing, but I am here and I am mending. Do not underestimate the power of the JWD!

you know, i think the printed words in watchtower literature is way more terrifying than any picture i've ever seen.
Very true in my book. And, we really don't need the subliminal pictures either--some of those WT illustrations would have been pretty scary if they were not so poorly drawn, nonetheless I don't think they were appropiate to be showing children--"Look Johney, see all those people being destoyed in this picture--you don't want to one of them now do you? So, you had better grow up get baptized and become one of JWs, because if you don't Jehovah will destroy you too and Mommy won't get to see you ever again and that would make Mommy very sad" NOW THAT'S SCARY!!! SAD, BUT TRUE, I HAVE HEARD WITNESS PARENTS SAY THINGS LIKE THAT TO THEIR CHILDREN ! . I think the inkblot theory explains much of these images. When I was a kid I saw all kinds of images staring up at the knotty pine ceiling in my bedroom--some were nice--some were not, but I don't think they influenced my life much.
