ok... you know the drill... .
- everyone you spoke to in chat last night appears in your dreams, having the same conversation as you did while in chat and on the threads.. - you add your screenname to the end of all emails, including business ones.. - you hit the refresh button on the active topcs page more than 3 times in one minute.. - you shout "apostate bastard!
" at the driver who just cut you off.. .
you wonder if its you're bo that is scaring everyone out of chat on the excuse of 'i uhh, gotta go to bed', then, you realize when its 6pm in bc, its 2 am for your island buddy out east across the pond...
ditto for refreshing the coffee cup and pee breaks...
you thank the gods above that you have a cheap unlimited hrs internet connection....
you have 32 windows open of JWD threads. you're reading 14, replying to 16, and the rest you're either checking out hot babe avatars or reading profiles....
you begin to think simon is a god...
boa
all hail thy new god...
i'd like to do a little informal survey.
i'm wondering how many pieces of literature are actually distributed to the public.
not how many pieces are reported placed, but actually placed.
xjw - believe it or not, recycling is actively done at bethel (at least canada bethel) and in the garbage rooms on each floor (always alotta booze bottles in there - LOL) , are very clearly marked recycling bins where you can 'place' all your literature at the end of the month and proceed to fill out yer time slip. And there was lotsa literature in there cuz there ain't no room or place for leaving a bunch of ol' mags rags around at bethel.
I agree that the amount of wasted literature and fuel and time used is pretty rotten.
boa knows...
.
e-watchman has just sent a letter to the governing body accusing them of apostacy and demanding a full investigation by an outside committee!
go to www.e-watchman.com and click on commentary for april!
wow, some letter and of course it led me into the den of the e-watchman for several hours - dem damn devils are gonna destroy me!
you never know if at least one service department guy in each bethel will get 'infected' by the NGO information and 'infect' others! The GB may have to disfellowship all the elders in the world and make a special 'new' application of their authority and appoint sisters in the congregations LOL - and damn it, it would be about time! I love being 'disciplined' by women LOL Women in suits also ROCK! LOL
i took what i wanted about the UN NGO situation and tried to figure out if this guy is for real or what?
still not sure - the stuff on the site is clever anyway
his 'question from reader' is an interesting twist on the wt's same at times silly effort (was he afraid to call it 'questions from readers' with esses for some reason?) to not answer q's that jws really want answers to and plus he uses some of the good ol' wts bait and switch tactics in the 'blood usage' question from reader, plus a little name bashing at the end of the commentary about other viewpoints on this topic, namely, - the 'sect of Ray Franz' - sheesh.
boa
ok, i know everyone is probably tired of the subject by now.
i haven't had internet access all week so i didn't get a chance to tell about my memorial experience.. not that it is exciting in the least bit.. i arrived 15 minutes early and sat in the middle of the meeting hall (actually a school cafeteria).
this was the first meeting i've been to with my former congregation in about five years now with the exception of a funeral that i basically snuck in and out of.. my whole point in going this year was to prove to myself i am no longer afraid of these people.
jeece, i'm feeling bad i missed it now - thanks a bunch

k, so i'm not really lookin for it so settle down please everyone!.
but really, am i the only one that would be tripping on watchtowers and awakes and when it came to sunday morning and you had to get your shite together tout de suite , there wasn't the right wt to be found anywhere?!?.
just me have this happen folks???.
jeece, i would prefer, and have done, the good ol' take any ol' wt rag, open it up (can't tell then that its not the right one unless they'res a real distinctive pic or something and a clever hand placement can fix that) and pretend pretend pretend.
dammit - i've been surfin WAY too much today on this site and others and am WAY TOO overloaded, plus, cousin al, and even 'if i had a rocket launcher' is on the radio - jeece!
please folks, tell me that more of you understand this watchtower study article crisis!.......
boa
.....whether it be in the congregation or from "headquarters"?
k, so maybe i'll play threadkiller, we'll see
the greatest scandle to me is that this organization could so totally control me (and millions of others out there) in full knowledge and complete dishonesty about the 'truth'. Knowingly for craps sake.
I really enjoyed and appreciate the COC and ISOCF books of R Franz but feel much stronger feelings than he writes, about the responsiblity that the individuals that make up the whole of the headquarters have for what they are doing in controlling peoples lives with the LIE! Perhaps Ray simply writes that way to not alienate some who aren't convinced yet of the truth about the 'truth'.
Of course, to outsiders with knowledge of how cults control, it is no surprise the above, but when you're born into it, surpressing all questions and obvious bs (obvious now) because you've been convinced/controlled that it is the 'truth', well jeece, it isn't such an easy pill to swallow.
boa
no longer controlled dubbie heh heh
i remember finding 2 week old lottery tickets in a elders car i was working on.
he said they must have been from the previous owner.
he owned the car for over a year and a half and the lottery tickets were just a little over two weeks old.
i haven't 'caught' an elder doing something untheocratic unless you call being self-righteous, pompous, and arrogant as such. Of course, many are not as I mentioned.
However, I have heard of my stories close to people I know and seemed quite factual. One was an elder I knew who was smoking for about 11 yrs (while an elder) and got caught at his workplace which was come distance from where he lived - LOL. And he was apparently a real hard ass with the young people in the congregation!
I think one of the most common activities they are 'guilty' of by wts standards is overdrinking - and quite damn understandably imo!!! Booze does wonders for surviving for a time in the WTS!
Jeece, once I broke free of the org, I no longer desired booze so strongly, and am now accepting any help and assistance from all of you to find another reason to start drinking heavily - LOL
boa
when i left the org i tried to find websites that revealed some of the things that i have learned recently on this website and others that are referenced here.
however, i found that it made it worse to read or talk about anything pertaining to jw's in the beginning.
it took a few years of healing (thank god for dogs, they are the master healers) and working through very strong feelings (which was difficult given that both my wife and i still have family in the org) but i finally came out the other end stronger and more confident.. fast forward to a few days ago when i found this board.
WELCOME exjdub!
Yes, a shocker indeed when you find out about the Faithless and Indescrete Slave Ruling Class Handful of Old Guys.
I'm facing UN NGO situation with a jw relative right now. I am sending the UN NGO info even though he probably doesn't really want to hear it as he already is qualifying what kind of 'support' it was that the WTS gave in the mags to the UN. I repeatedly said it to him that the articles themselves weren't the main problem but rather it was being an attached NGO to the UN. Also, he thinks if it was just for a library card, then its no problem - sigh. Anyway, I then said surely the research facilities available from other libraries in New York are sufficient and actually this produced a minor pause with a 'good point' from him.
Anyway, great to see you here - this site (my first one of this nature) is a real lifeline for me right now that's for sure.
boa
ps, here is the link to the thread little witch is doing refered to above everyone....
