  Welcome to JWD Elmer!

  Your desire to write an email is evidence of the good in your heart, however, the Society has effectively placed THEMSELVES in-between all familial arrangements. Of course, not all jws will follow this although publicly most will. Perhaps, just perhaps you will be successful in your attempts at contact. I don't know you at all so please forgive if I cover the obvious, namely, that showing unconditional love will be the best medicine and hope to reestablish a relationship if possible. That being said, prepare for the worst so that you can cope with 'sticking your neck out'.

  Like Forty said, the facts about what 'love' means for a typical jw speak for themselves and all boa can say right now is.....sheesh.

  Ozzie's Weekend Poll #92

  I think the ozziepost weekend poll is great!

  What do you do with the time saved from not going to meetings and Field Service?

  Quit simply - A LOT of really fun and interesting things!

  1. Romancing - not enough (what man would ever say 'no hunny' I simply can't do it again! lol). Anyway, with the extra time the potential is there......LOL

  2. Sleeping - yes, especially going to bed early on tuesday, thursday, and sleeping in on saturday and sunday.

  3. Drinking. (shiraz I hope!) - why yes cousin al (thats al kehol) and I are good friends thank you very much.

  4. Reading yes, especially such fine works as COC, ISOCF, Gentile times, etc., and many hours on JWD reading posts. My jw bro recently exclaimed 'i don't know where you get all the time to research and meditate on da troof' - sheesh, he musta forgotten I'M INACTIVE DUDE!

  5. Gardening - nope, green paint wouldn't stick to my thumb.

  6. Working (tut-tut!) - I used to laugh because my job is PERFECT for being an elder, aux pioneer etc cuz of the hours I DON'T have to work LOL

  7. Talking - yes

  8. Posting on JWD - truly a great twist to be here instead of attending a jw meeting somewhere LOL

  9. Watching sport - YES, all those hockey games whatever day and time of the week and NOT TAPED!

  10. Playing sport - not much yet.

  11. Going to church - for boa this is not in the equation.

  12. Going to the movies - prefer to watch most at home, but yes, sometimes.

  13. Going bowling - not my game (yet) however, if watching, the Big Lebowski counts, then YES!

  13. A hobby - yes - restoring an older truck into a rod.

  14. Two hobbies! - sure, see above under 'drinking' lol

  15. Other (Please detail) - Just plain enjoying life NOW in all its beauty.....as my wife used to say - instead of 'sacrificing' all the time for Jehovah, she preferred to 'LIVE' for Jehovah each day.

  been lurking off and on for about a year.

  i was never df'd or da'd, just walked away.. .

  i began to study when i was a new mom.all my friends worked, i got lonely for adult conversation,and when i was offered a "free" bible study i jumped at the chance.

  WELCOME Jadedlady! Your story was moving and I'm glad you're here where I too am receiving the kind of support that is making a big difference exiting out of the org.

  How the 'other' kind of lurkers, jw apologists, JW gunmen, JW trolls can come around here and be so cold-hearted and cruel with their shitty viewpoint about exjws or even worse, the 'apostate' label when there are so many stories of pain and hurt like your own is beyond extreme hate and is a great example of just how unloving the organization can be since these above-described people are a product of their 'mother' imo.

  My wifee said she chatted with you before this....she is Bulldog, perhaps you remember.

  anyone remember the parts at the meeting that discussed this claim by 'opposers' that JWs are brainwashed? and the answer being something like - 'if that means, we are a 'clean' people before Jehovah, then YES we ARE brainwashed!' LOL

  JWs cannot have fun eating at resteraunts

  i was visiting my mother yesterday, and she related some disappointment with, what i believe was last thursday's meeting.

  apparently, in the km, they were giving instruction on how to behave at this year's convention (as they do every year).

  however, it was pointed out that when going out to eat after a convention day, that the brothers and sisters should not be laughing loud, or being noisy in general.

  well I HAD the km in question, but it was kinda cold the other day so I think we started a woodstove fire with it, sorry. I read the article for some silly reason only to be p'd off at the thorough control the org wants to have over any individuality all in the name of 'how we look' to others. Why any intelligent reasoning person would want to become a part of a 'sham' of such uniformity NOT unity is hard to understand. In my case, I'm neither intelligent nor reasoning so that explains alot LOL.

  I remember the recommendation to put a few mags on the deck by the back window of the car to 'witness' to people passing by....sheesh......I didn't do this because I like to go FAST. I haven't got a speeding ticket in a long time, however, the last one was on the way to the DC which was 3 hrs away by highway.....I was clocked at ~140km and that was AFTER I hit the brakes big time.....sheesh

  boa....I don't know if its just me but jws also seem to like to complain alot and cheap out on tips when in restaurants WHICH I JUST HATE! If the service or food sucks, boa simply doesn't go back there.....

  My Trip - Jim_TX

  well... as most know, i went out to san jose last tuesday for a whirlwind 'tour' of the western states.. i was to leave san antonio by airplane, and return by van - driving all the way back, running tests on equipment along the way.

  (think about the man in the ads, saying "can you hear me now.

  " - and you'll be reeeeeeal close.).

  actually that bro at the booth probably will tell his 'experience' with you and how he stood up to the eeeeeevale slave class at some meeting or convention ....sheesh

  well, i've been there and done similar things standing on street corner like a bump on a log displaying corporate advertising....except I wasn't really the 'cocky' type.....suppose I had too many sub-concious doubts holding me back

  Has this happened to anyone else?

  ok, this may sound silly and trivial.

  but, i need to know if anyone else has had a similar experience.. as a result of facial hair (a goatee and mustache), i was relieved of my incredibly important.

  later, i felt like i should send the elders a thank you note for their wake up call to the fact that i was in a very messed up religion.

  well, it didn't happen to me (partially because I have very slow facial hair growth) but I have been intrigued by this 'rule' against beards.....

  In questioning the PO at a hall I was at a coupla yrs ago.....he said there really wasn't any 'rule' that he knew about (whatever) but that you had to be 'clean shaven' for assembly parts.....whoah.....just wait a sec mr. p.o. sir......doncha mean 'clean shaven' except for mustaches right? uhhhh, yah yer right, except for that .....sheesh
