Collins;
Why do you continue to YELL?
please don't forget me because i know all the elders who have access to the confidential area of jw.org and others in the forum always have answers to anyone's questions no matter who you are.. so please send me those two letters i requested for only.
and i need a simple link to those two letters only.
don't forsake me.
Collins;
Why do you continue to YELL?
i knew the watchtower didn't like me, but i didn't know they wanted to physically kill me (if they were allowed)from the 15 november 1952 watchtower magazine under questions from readers:.
in the case of where a father or mother or son or daughter is disfellowshiped, how should such person be treated by members of the family in their family relationship?.
we are not living today among theocratic nations where such members of our fleshly family relationship could be exterminated for apostasy from god and his theocratic organization, as was possible and was ordered in the nation of israel in the wilderness of sinai and in the land of palestine... (and a bit later)..being limited by the laws of the worldly nation in which we live and also by the laws of god through jesus christ, we can take action against apostates only to a certain extent, that is, consistent with both sets of laws.. so let me get this straight: if our secular pesky laws were not an obstacle and jesus was not in the way we'd be hunted and exterminated?.

Good reply except it needs one more word:
"If I was in Israel I would have had a fair public trial by competent men."
because of the may broadcast about how funds are down, our elders have been in their talks "encouraging" or pressuring everyone to donate more to the world wide work.. it freaks me out how we already give them a set amount of $600 a month, plus what is contributed by the congregation(usually $400 to $500 a month).
heck, our local congregation bank account even got below $500 for the first time this past may since i have been doing the accounts(4 years now).
for june, we raised a whopping $2400 to send into the branch.. the most amazing part, is that only a select few contribute on a regular basis every month.
Incognito
go back to May of 2014 and read this forum about the changes the ORG did with donations
While I'm well aware of the earlier donation changes, I had understood that the congregations were to immediately 'hand-over' all savings in excess of 3 months of congregation expenses plus make monthly payments of pledged funds or 'at least' the equal value of any 'forgiven' monthly mortgage payment.
Are you saying that your congregation pays a set 'pledge' of $600 plus, continue to raise additional funds of $400 - $500 +++ each month in excess of monthly expenses?
Congregations I had been previously associated, although having some 'well off' members, were often barley able to pay the mortgage and utilities.
While you maybe amazed of the disproportionate share of contributions provided, I had been aware of that being common in many congregations while I was still attending.
hot topic on topix seems to be candace conti settlement.
but it's all quiet here.
are you guys aware that your hero, who was not in it for the money but to change policies, settled without changing anything?
elders have to take care they are assigned to work with someone else and are to be supervised.
This 'someone else' that is to supervise, is that to be only an Elder that is fully aware of what the person is accused or was convicted, or can this be assigned to any other JW who is not necessarily aware of why they are to accompany the other person?

My question is, how exactly has the organization clearly shown no interest in protecting or assisting in the protection of children?
Interesting reply often taken by active JW's defending the org. Not answering a question but instead posting another question which has been answered many times previously. While I'm not going to restate that already stated within other threads and court proceedings, I will restate WT's claim in court, that it has no duty of care for the people within the congregations.
If WT enacted a true policy that congregants are to report abuse to authorities or that Elders are to independently contact the applicable authorities immediately upon receiving a report of molestation, that would then permit those trained in proper interrogation and investigation procedures, to proceed to properly question the abused and the accused, and possibly collect evidence in support of a crime having occurred.
While that policy would be a zero cost method to lessen the liability placed upon WT and its Elders, it could also be viewed by all, including the general public, as a no nonsense, no cover up approach to child sexual abuse within Jehovah's chosen organization.

@Nitty-Gritty
It takes both sides to agree to any settlement. If a SC appeal was so sure to go in the Watchtower's favor, then why would WT agree to a settlement? Since the original decision was in Candace's favor, it was likely WT that initiated a settlement offer.
While you infer some sinister reason as to why Candace didn't appeal, I understand that the WT was only successful in overturning the punitive portion of the award. If Candace had appealed the unfavorable appeal decision, that would seem to better support your claim that she was only in it for the money. Since she didn't appeal, it appears you have little to brag about.
There are also adulterers, fornicators, liars and the like in Congregations. But guess what, no one can control what you do, it is up to individuals to apply Bible principles and not do these things. Some lead a double life for a while, before they are found out, but once they are found out to be practicing these things they are disfellowshipped and no longer JWs.
A sin committed is not the issue. In the matter of sexual abuse which is a crime, at issue is what happens after it becomes known by Elders as well as the lack of protection demonstrated for those already abused and other members of the congregation.
Without being either witnessed by two parties or a full confession by the accused, there is nothing that will be done to further protect others from the abuser, least of which reporting a crime to proper authorities for them to investigate. The abused is often told to keep quiet, thereby keeping the matter secret.
While Kendrick already had a history of abusing other children, nothing was demonstrated as to have occurred, to protect Candace and others from a known offender who was in good standing within that congregation.
While you state:
who was not in it for the money but to change policies, settled without changing anything?
Candace cannot change WT's policies - that is WT's responsibility to do. Candace could only expose WT's policies as defective and inappropriate, hoping the public exposure would motivate WT to initiate policy changes. While Candace did what she could, so far WT has been uncooperative.
While appropriate policy changes would serve to to help protect those needing protection, the question arises as to why WT opposes making changes?
A further question is; why do you continue to defend an organization which clearly shows it has no interest in protecting or at least assisting in the protection of the most vulnerable within the congregation?

Who is the "WE" that give them $600/month when you refer to the $400-$500 the congregation gives as a "plus"?
i just googled "most accurate bible in the world" and got new world translation as the answer.
comments?
I Googled "most accurate bible translation" and got KJV at the top of the "Answers" dot com list. It may depend on the search words included as JWs may often use "in the world' in their claims.
"Bing" search shows Tetragrammatin at the top and the NWT Wikipedia JW claims page is shown as the 2nd listing.
at our meeting last night there was a talk about having run out of magazines for the last three months.
it's expected this will continue to happen.
the "branch" has not sent the requested number of magazines.
While lack of contributions was implied as the reason, I think it likely that shorting the magazine order maybe a method being initiated to have publishers start downloading and printing mags on their own printers. This could be an idea initiated by the WT, an overzealous CO or COBE. As it appears more than one congregation is experiencing similar, it is more likely not just the local COBE's idea.
While the OP didn't state how many mags were shorted, I expect a 'realistic' number for placement were supplied so that members would be forced to print or access a digital version for their families personal use.
As time progresses, expect to see less and less paper documents supplied by WT with an eventual expectation (requirement) that 'Publishers' print literature themselves for placement D2D.
i guess the branch isn't happy with the amount being sent each month since we are way lower than our loan amount.
we now have to another financial survey to see the max amount that can be given.
it is "encouraged" for all to be in attendance and give much forethought and consideration to the amount you can donate each month.
Does anyone know if the new 'forgiven loans' arrangement is in-place around the world or only in certain locations? I recall, the literature donation arrangement was not initiated in all countries when initially implemented but was phased-in world wide over time.
We have not attended in almost a decade and we prefer not to discuss JW/WT matters with our JW relations - the ones that do still talk to us.
