I really do not care if they talk about me behind my back or not. One thing that seperates me from backstabbers is that unlike them, I do not hide who I am or what I do. I have never once been called into the "back room" over my children. They are thought highly of in our congregation and also neighboring congregations.

Many things on that list are conscience matters. I went to the Prom. My daughters went to the Prom. My son has been in wrestling, basketball, football and baseball since little league and is now a senior in high school, still playing on school team (1st base). We have never once attempted to hide any of this from anyone in our congregation. It is who we are. It is a conscience matter. We have no problem with it. However, the youth that we know that have been "home schooled" to keep them from the world have been involved in drugs and immorality and have been counseled and even some disassociated. I can count 3 that have been in prison and 1 that is currently on the states Aggravated Sexual Offenders List for life.!!! WOW!!! My 3 kids all have gone to public school, played sports, been in band, gone to the prom, and are going to college.............all are still active in the truth, have never been in one ounce of trouble at school or at the hall.
What does anyone make of this?
In my humble opinion it's like holdig that spring tight in your hand and letting it go all at once. Where does it go?? EVERYWHERE! But let it go gradually and it is released in a controlled fashion. This is what we have done with our children. There is no good to come from sheltering your kids from the world, because they eventually are going to encounter it.

Could a JW pharmacist give out the morning after pill?
by Atilla inthis subject came to mind a few days ago when a saw a news article about a pharmacist working at a eckerd drug store in texas.
a woman came in for the morning after pill but the pharmacist who was very religious-not a dub-went in the back of the store and prayed about his situation.
he says that god told him that this wasn't ok, so he along with the other two pharmacists refused to give the pills to the woman.

If you work at a video store, can you rent someone an R rated movie??
If you work at a drug store, can you sell a single person condoms (you know what they are going to do with them.....!!)
If you are Nurse, can you hand the Doctor a unit of blood? and Can you assist on a surgery where the doctor uses blood?
I think it's just another excuse for some to not be gainfuly employeed, which seems to run rampant.
I am sick of hearing "you aren't going to need that job in the paradise."
I have a bad habit of liking to eat and have clothes and a roof over my head.........Colour me stupid, but that means I have to be employeed.

Yes, I plan on going to see it. Just because it's a film doesn't mean I have to agree with every essential detail of it. Nor do you. I'm sure Jesus will be hoisted on a cross, which is not historically correct. I equate this with watching "The Ten Commandments". Case in point: The Bible clearly states that Pharoah died in the parting of the Red Sea when he followed his soldiers into the water. However, in the film, he only watched the death of his men.
It is my opinion that one needs to always seperate truth from fiction.
