  How embarrassed were you to be a JW?

  i, for one, was often embarrassed to be a jw; i always felt guilty about that, because it was always drilled into us that we should never be ashamed of our "religious heritage".

  well, it's really hard to be the only one at your workplace who doesn't celebrate christmas, birthdays, etc.

  it just draws so much unwanted attention to you, like when people try to tiptoe around certain subjects in your presence.

  Especially in school. I was called names, hit in the head, considered an easy target (don't fight), spit on, et cetera.

  A tribute to Moose

  our basset hound moose died this morning.

  he was only 2 1/2 years old but he had addison's disease.

  something caused internal bleeding and he went very quickly, which was merciful.

  The term apostate is used freely on this forum, don't you find it offensive

  i find the term apostate used freely towards those who have left the org, by both witnesses hiding and also ex witnesses calling themselves that.

  don't you find that offensive.

  i have been out for over 6 years and the last thing i consider myself is an apostate.

  I, too, consider "apostate" a JW label and Tower doesn't frighten me any longer. It means to me, only, that I escaped and am thankful for my courage. Yes... it is a badge of courage!

  My Work Was Stolen!

  this is really making me mad.

  i write articles about different bible topics.

  they are mostly geared to new christians to help them get a better understanding of basic doctrine, christian life, and christianity in the early church.

  Of course, it's your words, you do what you like. But do you think Jesus would approve theft and lying? If you didn't copy the bible word for word and added nothing, then fine, give it away. But if you took time to think and put to paper your personal thoughts and research... It's your work!

  My opinion is that you have now given this guy the go ahead to take what ever he finds of yours on the internet.

  I personally would warn everyone and if he published your stolen work, I'd let the publisher know.

  If you look like the ceptor in the first king's hand behind the smashed vases, it is well drawn. Good enough anyway. Same with the claw hand. It's not great, but it looks fine.

  The other hand in question, though, looks like no mistake to me. Does it mean anything? What would be the reason?

  Kidney problems--I'm worried

  well for the past few years i have checked my urine at work ( i work in a medical division of a jail) and i have had intermittent protein in my urine (proteinuria), whenever i would see my doctor he would check my urine, and strangely enough it wasnt showing.

  well 2 weeks ago i went to my doctor and he did find protein in my urine this time, he sent me for an ultrasound of my kidneys and bladder this week, but i havent gotten the results back yet, in fact i was too worried to even call the doctor today.

  i have researched kidney problems and im worried something is majorly wrong with my kidneys.

  Dave,

  How are you? I gave a kidney 3.5 years ago and know a little. I get a free yearly checkup and 2 years ago I had a high keytone count. The doctors told me that after physical exercise, it is normal and not dangerous for the count to climb. The protien I'm not too sure about. I would at least cut your protien intake until you get results from tests.

  Hambeaks Extremely Heartbreaking News

  our friend hambeak just got the most dreaded phone call from his jw child.

  the news was passed on as he was asked for by name and not as"dad" and let known that "they" just called to let him know that his other son, brian, age 26, is dead.

  he was in a car accident.
