i'm a long time lurker, still a jw (for how long i don't know?
:-s) and at a bit of a crossroads.. you've probably heard the story before.
Do you have a mate? Are you married? I would be a lot easier if it was just you and the kids. I would think you could fade and save your parent's health. Too bad they don't care as much about their child as you do your children. Shunning is horrible. It's sad to put a cult before your family.

iam now as what was announced at a recent meeting that iam "no longer a jehovah's witness" all of my family and friends are witnesses so this will ailenate me from all of my friends and family.
but i feel like i don't want to go back.
i really hate the feeling of isolation and shamefulness while iam sitting in the meeting, what's the point of it all.

I too was born in and disfellowshipped at about age 25.The guilt, shame and loss of family and friend was so strong that I went back to the borg at age 28. I was there for about two years before finally exiting for good. Though I left, phisically, at age 30, it was 5 more years before I experienced emotional and mental exit.
It's not easy and if you have insurance and can get to a theropist or simular, please do. It will help you greatly.

i've been reading this forum for the past 5 years, today during christmas, my wonderful daughter "brooke" aka whyamihere finally got off her a$$ to show me how to post.. what next, you say?

my younger brother tried to kill himself today.
i am sick inside....sicker then i ever thought possible.
my mother told me the news in the cruelest of ways and i am now in a fog.. i blame the jw's and all the bullshit they put on children who are df.
I have screamed out from this dark place. Let him know you care and love him.

a little bit about why im here .
My exit was totally different. I just gave up and walked the earth waiting for Jah to deal me a grueling death. Took me 5 years to deprogram (born into it) and realize God wants me to be happy! What an odd thought. I thought he wanted me to fear him, and realize I'm never good enough.
If I were in your shoes, I believe the thought of my children turning their back on me because I was out, would help my exit.

i stopped going to kh when i was in my early 20's.
i'm now in my mid 40's.
i've done many of the things for which a person should be df'd over the many years since but i don't know whether i am df'd.
Why worry if you are or not? It's been so long ago and your family is still speaking to you... what's the concern?

Old flame, yes I'm starting three projects this spring once my son attends Montesorri School. I'm a stay-at-home dad and find it imposible to write at the time. I really do enjoy speaking, signing and meeting the people, so I can wait until spring.... Oh, did I say I really enjoy watching my, 2 1/2 year old, son learn to speak and grow his personality?
Yesterday, for the first time, he dawned his Big Boy Underwear for a full hour before he peed in my dining chair.
