  as i was returning home yesterday, i noticed an elderly lady sitting at a card table next to the security line.

  immidiately, her "my book of bible stories" jumped out at me.

  her table was covered with printed propaganda.

  It certainly isn't about ONLY ALLOWING speech and ideas and beliefs and teachings that YOU approve of or that YOU find correct.

  An airport is not a public place as is the street corner. Do you know anyone who would say that, letting your child die instead of using ALL medical support to save them, is an approved teaching and belief?

  How many non-Witnesses do you think know the blood issue about Witnesses? I suspect the admin at the airport didn't. I know if I had that resposability, I would want to be informed.

  As I was returning home yesterday, I noticed an elderly lady sitting at a card table next to the security line. Immidiately, her "My Book Of Bible Stories" jumped out at me. Her table was covered with printed propaganda. This is a very small airport with a wopping 3 gates. She was just sitting there quite lonely, counting her time as people passed by. I started to take a picture, then decided not to waste my time.

  This morning I wrote an email to the administation office of the airport, telling them how surprised I was, and sent them links to news articles about Witness children not receiving blood because of the Organization's doctorines.

  Looking forward to a response.

  okay, what's the deal with the smurfs?

  i've heard mention here and there about some 80s rumours regarding demonized smurfs (or something) that got jws in a panic.

  i remember when i was a kid my aunt telling my mother about smurf dolls with blood on them walking around, i think.

  When I married in 1982, I burned my wife's Smurf in the back yard. I was amazed at how quickly it went up in smoke. I expected it to take for ever as I wouldn't be able to catch it, to keep a good flame on it.

  Seriously, it's amazing the fear I had as I prepared to burn this stupid, stuffed, blue, thing. Looking back I feel like such an idiot.

  You all know where I learned this fear.

  i'm a jw still, and i'm new on this forum.

  here's my question: if the faithful and discreet slave is a messenger for truth why is the only mention of them in the bible in the form of a parable?

  why only one time(in two parallel accounts)?

  This is the scripture my daugter used to show me that it's only natural for her to shun me.

  all but one sister are jw.

  my other sister was molested by other people who were at the time witnesses.

  i have been a jw for more than 20 years, but during these past few years i have come to realize that some of the elders and regular publishers are very hypocritical and insensitive.

  they have done things that really disgust me.

  tare so arrogant that they cannot take any criticism form you.

  i stumbled on this site by accident and i'm kind of glad i did.

  in the past i have typically avoided these sites because most people on them seem newly bitter and i didn't like the tone.

  i was raised a witness by an alcoholic father and an abusive stepmother.

  well, after being shunned by my realtions for the last few years, except for parents and sister i've decided that i will no longer play by the rules of the jw cult game.

  i have had contact with several cousins, obviously too gob smacked by my cheek to shun in any way shape or form and have began wriggling my way into their awareness again.

  i intend to be like a kill and destroy white blood cell that gradually wreaks havoc with their jw cells and destroys...repeat destroys all that jw crap that is in them.
