there had been some buzz because no one was supposed to know about the release.. i swear everyone at my hall must be visitors to this forum.
or the elder's wives network must've done their usual job of telling everyone.. i would have expected an applause.
not even a line of people to get the book.

I don't know. I was trying to remember when they had special talk, or have they had it? I was so surprised that a book that is only for witnesses would be released on a Sunday and not during Ministry School/Service meeting. Its not really something the public needs to be privvy to. What's your thoughts on that?
I agree with the most honorable Blonde One. You would think Sunday would be a more public day, it was probably easier to get the people there on the weekend.

during a dinner conversation with a loyal jw, he mentioned that the society seems to be making stronger statements to jw's.
he mentioned the "keep on the watch" brochure, and how it seemed to be for jw's as well as the public.
he acknowledged the "personal questions" the society were asking us, in the brochure - how pointed and direct they are, even asking you to rank your physical and spiritual activities on a scale of 1 to 10. .
Excelent thread!
As such a control group, though, I find it hard to imagine a split. I see it more as a major falling out.
IMHO...

What do you think about the timing ???
The timing is very important. I promise you the timing of release was discussed for days if not weeks before the date was set. So what does it mean?

i have been lurking here for a few days but decided i need to jump in as i need some serious help!
i got into a relationship with a jw.
i worked with her for over a year, got hurt on the job and was recovering for about 5 months.
Welcome!
You are in quite a predicament! I'm sure she is a very wonderful woman. The problem as you have already surmised is her being born into the cult, plus the Mexican culture is VERY family oriented. Both these compounded, makes for a very confused girl. It is my guess that unless you convert, you will not be welcome in her parent's home. Which is evident that she it TRYING to figure out how to introduce you to them. This is very difficult. Even if she leaves now, there's no guaranty she will not be overcome with guilt after having children or having a family member die. Even now she may be forced to pick between her family and you, which of course will lead to a very sad girlfriend/wife.
Tread lightly, I'd say.
Good Luck,
Bryan

I thought you wanted to change your name and now you say you are leaving? Are you going to be reincarnated as someone else?

hi im new to the world....been lurking for a while but cant keep quiet any more...so much to say so much time...as an intro can i ask if anyone else begged grovelled pleaded lost their dignity in order to get reinstated only to find that it was worse than being d/fd cos at least when you were d/fd you knew why all your friends treated you like crap
Hi... and welcome!
I was df'ed in one congo and reinstated in another. Getting reinstated was not that bad, but then I returned to the old congo, and man did I catch it then. The PO took me in the back with another bro and kept shouting over and over, "You have to suffer, you have to suffer!" ( I used to be married to his step-daughter which when I married her, he was talking about a pool to see how long I could last.) I called second elder later that day and asked if the PO was over board. He answered "yes", but of course nothing ever happened.
That's the reason I left, the elder abuse; there were many more time by other elders. I stay out now because I see what a farce the whole cult is now.
