What sister elder said at the book study..........ARRRGH

hello all; my jaw dropped monday at the bookstudy.at the book study on monday, the only meeting i can stomach anymore, a statement was made that made my blood boil.

in asking the question "how does god protect us?

" sister elder answered this way: "well, one of the ways is like that abuse case that was filed in the (twin) cities, or wherever, (sic) it turns out it was thrown out because all the charges were false, or whatever.

i'm so ashamed.

here i am 26 years old and i have to go through my house and make sure there isn't anything that might possibly offend my mother.

i plan to do this before her visit next weekend.

Well, I made it through the Sat. with my mother.....and wasn't she sweet leaving me a new set of magazines???? How thoughtful!!!!! and I bet she will call me tonight to see if I've taken a look at them.....guess I shouldn't lie...I looked at them while I threw them away....

Oh, and this is funny....my husband was driving when she was talking about this and he was holding in laughter....

She saw a "Go Topless" ad for a convertable....it was a billboard....she took offense to it. She saw it right outside of our water park and thought maybe they were topless in there.... When my husband explained that there were billboards advertising cars that could be "topless" she asked him it he was aware of what it REALLY meant.......(no mom....he has no clue what they are referring to...)

Do you trust JW's?

or in any kind of dealings with them.....for example, because of their morals honesty is "supposed" to be practiced.

I guess the reason I'm asking is because my mom seems to think that everything that happens to her is because she is a JW. She thinks that when she gets a new job it is because they know that JW's are trustworthy and hard working.....

Do you really think people take this in to consideration and hire somebody because the trust the JWs?

i alway's start the day in good mood, but suddenly my day went wrong when a storm came.

i cancelled all of my appointments.

Waking up ready for work and finding out that my internet or phone lines are down....(I work from home, no phone lines = no communication with my office = an hour and a half commute to go in to the office to work)

Only happened a few times but boy it makes a day go all wrong.

i know we've probably all seen the footage of steve irwin feeding a croc.

while holding his baby in his hands 6 months ago.

now he is trying to say that it is the angle the camera was at.

Obviously the back lash from what he did is not over yet.. Oh boy.. this could go on for months.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was a little surprised to find an article on it in the news today. I had forgotten all about it.

I know we've probably all seen the footage of Steve Irwin feeding a croc. while holding his baby in his hands 6 months ago. Now he is trying to say that it is the angle the camera was at. He says his baby was in no danger. I personally can't agree with that. Animals are so unpredictable. I am certain that Roy Horn never thought one of his tigers would hurt him.

A while back we were at a gator park watching the feeding show. A couple of gators jumped for the same piece of meat. We watched the one that missed the meat look up in the walk where the people were standing above. He actually was eyeballing a small child that was watching him. It really gave me a chill.
