by desib77 inthis forum seems to have changed quite a bit and i'm kind of confused about the different people that respond to posts.
i need someone to explain what a jw apologist is to me.
is that someone who is not or has never been a jw but doesn't think there is anything wrong with what they do / teach?.

It seems that there used to be more ex-jws and even a few jws that shouldn't, by their own standards, have been here but it was always clear to me where people stood..... now, not so much.

Wow...... After reading the first few posts and the last few posts I don't even want to read to find out how this thread took such a ridiculous turn. What I do want to say however is that the whole BBQ and Doberman thing is pretty funny. I volunteer my pittie / dobie mix for that party!

now she is referring to it as a "bible study" which implies that she thinks i need to be taught.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this. I hope to read through all of the responses on my lunch.
One thing I do want to mention, though, is that I am in no way open to JW beliefs. I may not know exactly what I do believe but I am positive that JWs do not have "the truth" and I hate that so many people have their lives ruined by them.

I'm saying that he didn't allow it to be so simple. By him allowing pain and suffering of others I don't know that I can accept that. He didn't have to punish the entire human race. It was a choice and until I understand why that choice was made, I can't just be accepting.

But isn't that what he thought he was doing? Creating "flawless" people........ "perfect" people. If not, then how could they have been given inperfection? And God does want people that will do what he wants them to, why else would he "punish" for not doing his will?
Love is a wonderful thing and I am very thankful that I have been made with the capability to love but I don't believe that it was a choice between creation that can love and creation that obeys God. You have to think that this is the almighty God. Why a choice? Why not humans that can love and yet worship him the way he so obviously wants to be worshipped?

First of all that is creepy and I really didn't need to see an implied gory shooting. I am well aware of what cults are like. Having left one I see clearly how they work.
Secondly, maybe I shouldn't have used the term "belief system". I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting some sort of answer to my questions and to know what I believe and what I don't.
