  If a JW Came To Your Door How Would You Handle It?

  jehovah's witnesses have never come to my door but they have come to my girlfriends door.

  i have coached her as to what to say or ask but it appears that they always seem to come when she's not there.

  .....just curious would you get into it with a jehovah's witness at your door especially if it was someone you did not know?.

  Oh yes I forgot about 3 years ago we had 2 lady elders always come buy and visit and share some quotes from the book of the Mormon we enjoy their visit and headed to there car. Low and behold I see some JWs working down the block and they come to our door and they started in on there spiel and I said you guys were just here like 10 mins. ago it was 2 elders . The look on there face was priceless. they got in the ca,r and the car group left the territory and am sure they were very confused.

  It was about after one year after I faded. A group of them were out in "service" and did not recognize any of them.

  How ever one of the "sisters" did recognize me and asked me if I was a "brother'?

  I purposely gave her a WTF look and said "I dont know, Im my brothers brother, what do you mean?"

  She got embarrassed and said I thought you were someone. and walked away.

  But when they come knocking at my door at home I never answer. When I see them in down down Seattle with there stupid carts I pretend there the Mormons and ask them questions about how to become a Mormon.

  I just go on about Joseph Smith and their beliefs and ask them questions they cant answer. I realy have a lot of fun with them

  This may be a crazy question, but it popped in my head and won't leave. . So I gotta ask. . .

  ok, this probably applies to most faith systems that believe in any sort of afterlife, but i would like to know what sort of explanation the jw's would come up with for this little problem, you know, after armageddon on earthly paradise.

  sorry if i sound dumb, but it's been nagging at me for a few weeks and have to ask.. so, what if a young married jw couple are living their life, waiting for the big a, knowing they will be together in the earthly paradise, then very sadly one of them dies.

  from what i know, if a jw dies, that's it.

  What's The First "Worldly" Thing You Did When You Exited The Cult?

  when you finally and officially exited the cult, whether it be by disfellowshipping, disassociating or fading - what was the first things you did that are considered "worldly"?.

  for me, it was like crash landing on another planet that looked like earth but was completely different to the earth i knew.

  when my husband and i left the religion of jehovah’s witnesses (jws), we, like countless others, lost family members and friends because of the witnesses shunning doctrine.

  Well Barbara this is a painful subject. It happen to me I almost lost my kids. Now my kids hate JWs because of the crap they caused in our painful divorce. Hopefully your grandkids will someday see this thread.

  This week's WT study article "Keep on the Watch" - the latest dumb article from the Gang That Couldn't Think Straight

  ok so this week's wt study article is entitled "why must we keep on the watch?"..

  it is filled with statements on the importance of "being watchful" for the beginning of the "great tribulation".

  paragraph 2: “keep looking, keep awake, for you do not know when the appointed time is.”after that, jesus admonished them repeatedly: “keep on the watch.”.

  There was a special needs talk from an elder. He was on the stage encouraging everyone that the great T was very very close. He also encourage those that have herd the end is near for years not to give up and stay focused. He read from the bible on how close it was and read from Watchtower books that the end was near!

  It was a very emotional talk. That was 25 years ago

  where have the demons gone?

  does anybody remember some of the sensational demon stories jw's would tell back in the day?

  i was a kid in the early 80's and i remember a few times hearing of people having real life encounters with demons.

  for example, one sister claimed that before she became a jdub she would regularly talk to demons and they would even fix stuff like her washing machine!

  Years ago when my parents were alive, They would come and visit us once a year. So we would take them to realy cool historic places. There a an old restaurant and inn in the mountains we went to and had lunch there.

  The local people said it was haunted and I also knew that too , I just liked it because it was old and very interesting. My parents enjoyed the food and the charm of the place. Well any way we got home and showed them a tourist leaflet in the lobby of this place and said Mom did you like the haunted building we went to and showed them the leaflet about the history and how it is haunted by this women that died 120 years ago. My mom and dad when went ballistic on me . My mom cried and wanted to leave for home and pay for an one way ticket home and forfit the round trip plane ticket . So you see folks this is one of the reasons why I left this crazy cult years ago.
