How does that prove that Bush is correct in his actions? It doesn't you are trying to brag somehow. Using this kind of statement as a trump card in a debate over the decisions of a third party to somehow attempt to bolster your position and impune the other guy are really low and in my experience a tactic not employed by truly professional officers and NCOs.

So if a Navy SEAL tells you he thinks you're wrong is he right because he is from a more highly trained outfit?

If you want to live your life as a bragging contest have fun in your silly little world.

We all know I belong to the hate people-who-lie-to-start-wars/corporate-whore/war-monger crowd. I am sorry your puppy love for GW Bush is so strong that you cant see who he really is.

no proof of your accusations that Bush is NOT a great president

Just being president does not make one a great president. The proof is needed to show him to be a great president.

nor do you offer viable solutions for todays challenges

First of all I am not privy to the same information that he is. That is why I tend to support a sitting President when he makes a case for war as I did. But just so you know I dont always support a President before going to war I did not support intervention in Kosovo in 1999 when Clinton was in charge. The "liberals" have been proven right in the case. The war was a mistake. We went based on lies. We did not make ourselves safer but gave Al Jazira fuel to add to the flames of antiAmerican hate in the middle east among other things.

I don't claim to have all the answers but I am smart enough to know that having this republican doctrine of "what ever big daddy megacorporation wants big daddy megacorporation gets" is dangerous for both the individual, for the coutry as a whole, and the environment.

Most Republicans are too ignorant to realize that or just don't care about the future of the country. Its the younger generation that has to pay for the ignorance, apathy and malevolence of the old.

Minority this....Christian Rightwing that.... special interests yack yack yack. Both Parties pander to special interests. Lets have a look at which side panders to who.

Democrats: the working man (labor unions), the minority advocate groups, women's rights groups, environmental groups...etc

GOP: Big Business; that sells our jobs over seas for a few extra bucks, cuts environmental standards and damages our ecosystem for a few extra bucks, wants to sell guns without background checks or waiting periods (I am a gun owner) for a few extra bucks (and votes); the anti-abortionist (I am anti abortion) and dubious Christian right through fear of punishment from God for voting democrat to keep the GOP in power.

If the Republican constituency would wake up and get tough on big business by voting democrat for a while they could force change in the party and we could return to the comfortable safety of partisan politics in a few years.

we've managed to get very heated about the iraq debacle but noone on either side of the debate has come up with a sensible alternative to the mess bush has made.

so what would you have done if post 911 you were president?

i would have invaded afghanistan and destroyed the taliban, have got pakistan onside from day one and ensured that their borders were not porous and would have stayed in afghanistan until the job was done rather than the poor job done so far.

I would have double bagged it. I will just say this: I voted for Bush in 2000. I was behind him when he went into Afghanistan. I believed him when he sold his case for war on Iraq. I was sickened by the reckless nature of our attempt to kill one or a few INDIVIDUALS in leadership with bombs. The collateral damage in this Iraq war was disgusting, it was unwarranted and the VERY THING THAT WE WERE CLAIMING TO DEFEND OURSELVES AGAINST. We now know that we never faced any threat via Saddam. He had no WMD, and no known intent to use them on us. We have no evidence of collaberation with terrorists (beyond paying suicide bombers families $25k). So what was our justification for murdering Iraq's families? I will not be voting Bush again. He is a complete tool.

I doubt that an American President could carry out these changes, even if he had the mind to.

Apparently if you are willing and determined enough to lie, monger fear, call dissenters unpatriotic, wrap yourself in the flag, use 9-11 as an excuse to change our entire outlook on the world you can justify provoking and starting wars in the name of national defense.

on this great President.

Washington was a great President. Kennedy was a great President. FDR was a great President. Not many presidents sucked but greatness is also exceptional. Andrew Johnson sucked and Herbert Hoover sucked. GW Bush is in the ranks of AJ and HH not JFK or FDR.
