As far as I am aware its always been a mixed exchange in past years.
Names will just be drawn out of a hat at random to match people up.

gadget did a great job of organising the forum gift exchange the last couple of years so i thought i would give him a break and volunteer to organise it this year.. for those that are new basically what it involves is that those who want to join in will post to this thread and then pm me their name and address.

For those that are new basically what it involves is that those who want to join in will post to this thread and then PM me their name and address. I will then collate the names and addresses and assign everyone a person to buy a gift for. So everyone sends one gift and everyone receives one gift, and you will not know who your gift is from until christmas day when you open it ! We usually set a limit of $15 for gifts and you will receive your name of who to buy for around mid-november so that you have time to shop and post it off.
Obviously I will not share anyones address with anyone other than the person who is going to send them a gift.
Anyone up for it ???

Inappropriate, uncontrollable hilarity during prayers
by restrangled inanother thread just reminded me of this.
did any of you go in to hysteria during prayers due to sounds, smells, or faces being made etc....especially the long ones?.
these are some of the better memories for me.

I remember my nephew was a baby, he had been really fussy all meeting. The prayer as usual was going on and on and on, he let out a burp so loud you wouldn't believe it came from a baby, it nearly blew his socks off. That completely cracked everyone in the rows around us up for the rest of the prayer.

Five years posting!
by LittleToe init doesn't seem two minutes since i first joined this site.
on the other hand it feels like i've been here forever, accumulating about 15,000 posts in the process.. it was a wednesday (12 september 2001) on a small island off the west coast of scotland .
in recent months i had experienced a spiritual awakening of such proportions that it caused me to question one after another of the beliefs that i'd been raised with as a jw.
