my posting days on xjw sites are over.. thanks to everybody for making this place so vibrant, informative and at times invigorating.

an special thanks of course to simon and angharad, of whom too many expected too much and who, despite our differing viewpoints at times, have been trustworthy friends to me.

Are you as sick of all the Whiners,naggers,complainers and cry babies??????

i can't even read over a thread hardly now without someone almost hi-jacking it with saying something like oh i hope simon changes his mind about shutting down this board or saying well he shouldn't be on a power trip and just sell it or give it to someone to continue on.

he has answered each of these numerous times and each time said no.

yes... it true another jw / xjw kills himself.. i saw him in kells irish pub in february.

there is a cigar room in the basment there.

he was puffing away, as i was...i looked over at him and his new girl friend.

Simon thank you for starting this board....And if you don't want mess with it anymore...find and God bless....But is your ego so big, that you think no one else on this planet has the ability to run this board as good as you?..I'm glad your life is good now...So why not let other people get to were you are at now, my friend!

Please go back and read the reasons why the forum is closing, its nothing to do with ego or being selfish.

Changling and Beks accounts have been reactivated, as I think it was a case of them getting caught up in last weeks troubles. Please do not start digging up old arguments and re-hashing things.

Doing this doesn't mean we are going to start undeleting just anyone.

I also would like to know who were the poster or posters that stole the database with our information. This is completely out of control. I still can't believe it has gotten this out of hand..

Regarding Simon's Announcement

we have known behind the scenes for a time that this was being considered, obviously.

i just want to express my personal appreciation for what simon and angharad have done here on jwd.

i found jwd just a few months after leaving the organization, and kind of believing that i was pretty alone in the world at the time.

It is not a power thing? That's great. I look forward to finding out who you plan to pass the site on to in that case.

No it isnt a power things at all, don't you think we have considered this? One reason it would be very difficult is due to the forum software being custom, there are many other reasons that we have gone over. Simon would be able to explain them better than I can. There will be other boards and some will likely come and go but eventually there will be another JWD that will grow to replace this one and will become established as THE place to go! There is a whole community of people out there who will help this happen and with the help and hard work of someone who is committed to running it and dealing with all the stuff that comes with it (positive and negative) it will get there.As Simon said last night any other site should stand or fall on it's own merrits without simply being an offshoot of this one.

it seems the entire world feels that americans are not only ignorant of international events but also void of any sense regarding their own politics.

after reading one spicey thread on the topic of our apparent unwitting density i had a couple things to say.

I know the Iraq war is a sore point to the international community and no one likes Bush-guess what? 84% (in the last poll I saw) of Americans feel the same. Our political system of voting does not leave the Presidency merely to the popular vote of the citizens, as with the case of Bush, politicians weighed in more heavily than the citizens did. It was our politicians who put him into office. So what would you have the American public do? What would you do if it happened in your country? Storm the capitol and take out the President? I think not. SO why the critism against us?

I think the problem is, the rest of the world could see what Bush 'was' and was 'doing' but it's only now that Americans have become unhappy with him and that is largely because things didn't go according to plan. If you had won the war, had a smooth occupation and cheap gas then I don't think most Americans would have minded that it was all done on a pretext.

The fact is, he was elected and his policies received popular support or at least the electorate was manipulated easily enough to give permission. Your political system is weak and is there to serve the industrial military complex and other big business.

While America may be 'big' and have a big population it is no excuse for people not to be interested in the wold at large as most other populations seem to be (a sweeping generalisation but one that I don't think is disputed).

And yes, for what he has done people should be clamouring for impeachment - the political equivalent of storming the capitol and taking out the president. He's an albatros and has severely undermined the standing of America in the world. He pissed away global good-will after 9/11 ... quite an achievement.

America doesn't like sports that it can't win so they invented all their own that only they play and feign disintrest in all others.

What are they going to do, compete in F1 with a Ford or a Dodge? LOL

The debacle that Ferrari caused in the US Grand Prix that never was really set the sport back in the USA and frankly, they don't deserve to do well there after treating the fans like that.

I really miss the British Touring Car Championship ... NASCAR is just, well, utter shite.

i got the idea for this thread by talking with a friend this weekend who had been abused by a father when young.

this person confronted this parent about it and got a very self righteous reply back from the offender.

already a precedent for exposing the watchtower society has been set.

yeah Ang, he was so busy back pedalling and blaming everyone else on his thread about 'how to expose child abusers who got away with it,' that he obviously didn't read the thread thoroughly.

I don't think there is any need to be unpleasent about it Uzzah. It was a mistake, I just wanted to clarify. Acutally its my fault also because I noticed after that the quote box hadn't worked properly.

UZZAH- I agree with you that individual professional therapy IS the best way generally speaking for people to get healing from child abuse . I was not the one that suggested initially posting names anonymously. Angahrad and DNTWNPHTG did.
