but once the 'friends' realized that the website i was promoting with my flyers and moving car billboard was not an approved wt site, the powers that be got ... well ... pissed is the word!.
nobody bothered me on friday as i went smiling about my posting flyers on the light and utility poles on the routes to/from the convention site.

Talking about gestapo, the convention in Manchester this year is in a sports arena, and you can't get in without a ticket which you must get from the elders in your hall. I don't know how that works for the public talk. The last one we went they we paranoid about you wearing the little name tags, we'd left our jackets on our seats, so we got followed by an attendent while we walked around.

as some of you might know i'm not a jw, but married to one.. all though i have clear opinions about the wtbts i havent told my wife or my family in law yet what i think of their religion.. therefore they often talk about whats going on in their con.
without worrying about me hearing some of it.. this weekend i was told that one of the fellows from our con.
had been stealing from his workplace and had been giving a public.
I think this type of thing is pretty common in most congregations, it happened many times in ours that someone was publically reproved, and then you would then start hearing all sorts about them. Quite often even though what they had done is supposed to be confidental there was usually a local needs talk around the time of the annoucment, which is a bit of a give away and just fuels the gossip machines.
i'm not being a pervert, really.
i was just wondering whether there was a psychological explanation for why people (women, i think) experience sex, when there's nobody physically there.. there's a lot made of this in dubdom, so i'm thnking there couldbe a connection with the dub 'culture'.. just curious.. philo (honestly, but still a male)

hello, i've been lurking the board for quite sometime now and i have also read crisis of conscience.
my hubby and i stopped attending the meetings since december and had our first christmas in 6 years.
it was fun although the feelings of guilt are still within us.. we've been visited by the elders twice but we managed to keep them at bay.

i love you guys.. abaddon's and ldh's recent posts hit close enough to home that i decided to post again.. i think the selected memory and split personalities go hand in hand.. the selected memory helps keep the cult personality happy and gleaming no matter what damage the suppression does to the real human or the real human's family and friends.. a couple of years ago i was talking about my childhood with my parents and they both acted stunned when i said i was still angry with them because they didn't want me to go to college (i gave up several scholarship offers, etc.

since drifting from the org over the last year or so i have been slowly updating my clothes.
i thought maybe it was just me who had been dressing like a middle aged matron since i was 23 but whilst talking to a young xsister recently i learnt that she too has thrown out most of the clothes she used to wear whilst a dub.. has anyone else found themselves doing this, and is it just a female thing?
