i've just read in another thread that due to circumstances the secret santa for this year hasn't been able to happen, so i want to try and organise another one!.

according to the lady at the post office, the closing date for international mail to be delivered before xmas is this week, but for post on the same continent we still have a few weeks so i'll try and take that into account so everyone can have their prezzy before christmas day.

if everyone who wants to join in can pm or email me at [email protected] with their details before 12noon sunday 30th november(uk time), i'll try and get the details back to you by sunday night.

How do you feel about Christmas?

do you enjoy it after so many years of not celebrating?

does it have any relevance to you now?.

i live in nz and it doesn't feel like xmas to me cause it's the middle of summer - it just doesn't compute so that helps really all in all.

We are really enjoying our 3rd xmas after a 20 year absence.

All the decs are up, other half is still tweeking the tinsel as I type. We have a few cards already and my secret santa gift has arrived.

It is really good fun, I just wish that my children where still young enough to get some magic from it, but we are determined to build xmas anew for ourselves.

If anyone would still like an Xmas card please PM me with your addy.

.......i just noticed your post........can't say i blame you for thinking that.

i mentioned i'm currently an elder and don't plan on leaving the organization...........but i probably won't be an elder much longer......as i'm not exactly the "ball of fire" they want.

No you are not being a hypocrite.

Most if not all on this board dont know all your JW background and/or emotional and family ties to it. All of these have a vast influence on how long it will take you to leave the WTBTS. Maybe it will turn out that you never will.

Having said that said, how ever hard or long you try you will never be able to change the org from the inside. Many here have tried that and failed, but maybe you need time to prove that for yourself. The longer you stay the greater the toll on your mental stability. Dont let the price of failing be too high.

To those who have jumped up and down:

It is very easy to forget how we used to feel when we first came to a true understanding of the "TRUTH". Very few of us will have left immediately. For most it takes time to assimilate what leaving will mean to us and our families and friends and maybe even our secular work.

For some it is the second time that they will be looking at starting again by leaving a once firmly held belief and maybe a large network of friends, so this enormous step is not undertaken lightly.

Everyones journey back to the world from JW land is differant and undertaken for various reasons.

DTM has only been posting here for a very short time, Just doing that takes the type of courage that only someone who was/is a real JW will understand.

Take care DTM and dont forget to come and tell how you are getting on.

Usually see someone from one of the local congs every time we go out.

Depends what mood I am in as to wether it upsets me. On Wed in the local DIY store I couldnt be bothered so pretended I hadnt seen them and was having a really involved and happy conversation with other half over new kitchen doors - as you do - when they walked past us, (other half hadnt seen them anyway).

Another time I will be effusvie and greet them as though nothings changed.

Some are OK and friendly, others are VERY uncomfortable but still talk - just. We havent had anyone actually totally ignore us if we have spoken first. Maybe we have that joy still to come.

BTW we are not DA or DF.

Hi Latte

Dont be too hard on yourself.

We all come to this site with differant emotional baggage. I am hesitant to be too open on the board due to JW ties that still exist.

Having said that look at what you are doing. Even talking of xmas is a big step. Contrast that to how you felt say 5 years ago or even at the height of your belief in the WTBTS lore.

We are all moving at differant speeds but hopefully in the one direction with the org behind us as a gradually fading spectre
