reading the lb thread "home but hiding" struck a chord with me.. i remember when i was inactive for the period of about a year the elders made a few "sheperding calls".. did anyone else out there find these very rude and condescending?.
first of all, in my case at least they always showed up unannounced.

that sounds just like the party that I had at Bethel and was kicked out for...because a little bitchy narc night watchmen felt spritually concerned to inform on us...I'd have paid good money to kick that kids ass all the way to manhattan.

'' article in the watchtower, and the yearly exhortation to ``make nice at the summer's assemblies'' in the km.. in the case of the latter, the tone and content of the annual scolding is unbelievably demeaning to any responsible adult... being told to dress nice (suits and ties only, please, for the men and deresses only -- not too short ladies) not to abuse complimentary breakfasts, pool privileges and generally avoid rowdiness at the hotels where they stay-- all laced with clearly fabricated -- not to mention unattributed-- quotes from ``worldly observers amazed by our fine conduct.''.
Well when you consider the average IQ of the witnesses you have to take into account that a large majority of the kids homeschooled and couldn't even hack that. So it is necessary to talk down to the lowest common denominator in order to reach the idiots.
I think homeschooling should be banned unless you are physically or mentally unable to attend a school. Homeschooling=Idiocy!

we call the wt the "borg" & their followers "dubs" etc., these are describtive words that (we) have given them.. my question is this: why do we refer to ourselves as "apostates"?

I was in some personal denial when I read in this post about the dictionary definition for apostate so I looked it up.
Wooohooo! I'm an apostate!!!! First thing that came to mind was to go get a vanity license plate made at the mall for my car that reads "APOSTATE".... LOL
someone replied to a post i entered and got me thinking what others perceive about us due to the nicks or id we have chosen.
some of the nicks i am sure are just self explanatory , others are cute, or simple.
although i suspect that very many in this room,took time to think of theirs and definitly the nick holds some little secret as to who they are as a person.

You guys must all have attended different service meetings than I did because I was taught that when someone posed a question that was intended to trip you up and say something that was contradictory to the WTS teaching you were to politely excuse yourself, for that person was directed by satan to waste your time and that there were other "sheep" that wanted to hear gods word.

BTW, I secretly moved my family over 1200 miles away just to distance myself from the harrassment of my parents. That pissed them off royally!!! Now my mother resorts to emailing, calling on the phone, and sending videos.
Moving doesn't solve anything...
