  Missing friends

  over the years i have made many friends online that are jw's.

  when my doubts were such with the organization that i was full on posting here, little by little i withdrew from my jw friends online and in person.

  no explanation, i have not responded to emails over time, and just let those friendships die down.. out of respect.......i felt sneaky in my researching the organization and just was not sure where my thoughts and feelings were going to land.. today, i unblocked someone on my messenger to chat with them.

  I had been feeling a bit nostalgic myself, lately, until and old but current friend from the JW's called me last week and reported the following:

  A couple that I was good friends with at the last Hall I attended had been engaging in running an internet porn site!!!!!!!!!!!! It hit me that most of the JW's cover up what they really are. Sad!!!!!!!

  Jehovah's Witnesses are not a cult and here's why I think so

  when most people think of "cult" they think of the people's temple, the branch davidians, or heaven's gate.

  many also want to put jehovah's witnesses, mormons, and scientologists into this group.

  i don't agree with that because there is one main difference between true cults and high-control groups like jws:.

  The Ex-Amish experience many of the same things we do when leaving their group, and have an even worse time adjusting than we do. They can't even drive cars or even know the value of money (you aren't allowed to keep money until you're a male 18 and up). How many people have you heard running around calling the Amish a cult? Not too many.

  When I think of the Amish, I immediately think "cult"!!! Just because an organization has been around for hundreds of years and are relatively peaceful, doesn't mean that aren't a cult!

  Here's what Rick Ross says about them:

  "The Amish can be seen as a "cult" or exclusive sect, but they have existed in America peacefully since the 1700s."

  It wasn't until I had been out a few years, that I could look back and see how much my life had been controlled. Today, I still find myself having to overcome "JW" mind contol.

  we accepted all of jehovah's witness teachings as a total package, it was "the truth".

  there were no cracks in our armor that would allow other ideas, doctrines or thoughts to seep in.

  I just finished painting a wall for my mom in "old fresco" style...it turned out to be a work of art!!! Really beautiful, it I do have to say so myself! Then I cooked an outstanding dinner for my son, over which we talked politics. He has totally turned around from being a Bush supporter!!! Can life get any better???????????? LOL!

  funny how life can be.. you chase your dreams, mean well, do your best to live large, and twist life bu the nipples; but there's only so many hours in a day, only so many days in a week, and only 365.25 days in a year.. i realize i'm swamped.

  i find myself rolling around like a big fat chicken on wheels that has been separated from his head quite suddenly.. i think i have become the victim of my own success.. the more you have, the more maintenance and upkeep you have to procrastinate.. i'm only a man, i can only avoid so much work!.

  barely got the boat winterized before the cold, evil fingers of minnesnowta's dominant season could work their frigid havoc, boy, i am starting to wonder if i am really 'boat people.

  Sounds like you're on the path to true freedom!!! I'm trying to help my pack rat 81 year old mother get organized!!! We've had a lot of laughs over all the "junk" she has kept for years...it's now on it's way to Goodwill or the dump!!!

  Just informed the sisters at my door.

  well it's a beauutiful day and it got better in the last hour .. two sisters and a daughter came to our door witnessing and after what i told them i think they are very thankful.. they first spoke to my wife and she told them why she is da'd over the societys stand on them protecting pedophiles ,but she had to go shopping and left me with it.. we had a meaningful discussion and i was able to enlighten them on the facts of the society and the recent cases settled in court in america ,and of course they did'nt know about it .

  it came out that they both had observed the society hiding things and especially the pedophiles in the congos.. well then i explained that at least one is in their congregation and one sister said she knew of the same one because an elder had told her to watch out for him because he was seen touching and loitering around one of her children .

  well i said that's pretty terrible that a pedophile has to touch your child before an elder will warn you of the pedophile 's history.. then the other sister who is a newly baptised witness asked the other sister why she had'nt warned her too.

  Do you find the Jan 15-08 WT disturbing?
