  i think she covered just about all beliefs...i have to say that the one that seems the most slanted is the muslim belief...seems it's all about the guys getting 72 virgins...where is the heavenly part for the women?

  i just read your analysis thread.

  in it you made this statement:jws dont really use the blood brochure in field service (despite it being on the website), and given that it is at least 16 years old, it is probably due for a revision or replacement.

  i'm not sure where this idea came from, but apparently it's been discovered that hardly anyone is actually "laughing out loud" when using the term "lol".

  lol if they really are laughing out loud, there is something wrong with them (they could be retarded or have a bad sense of humor lol).

  please show your support for my new cause in which i attempt to bannish the term lol from the english language.

  All of the above pales in comparison to the unwise use of duct tape. I say ban that stuff forever!!! If you don't believe me..go read the thread on Barbara Walters...Heaven, Where is it?...I'll take LOL anytime!!! And any of these...., etc.

  SK...I was busy reading another post...not avoiding your questions. I have no problem explaining it to you, but I would think it would be very obvious. It would probably be impossible to get converts if you opened up discussions using the "no blood transfusions allowed" or "1914." No one would understand and they would tell you to get to h#$$ out of their house, off their porch, even off their property. You start off dangling the carrot "the paradise earth!" and proceed from there. THat sounds good to people and by the time you have them hooked you throw out the blood issue and 1914 and tell them they will understand it all in time. As a witness you hold your breath and see how that soaks in!!! If they proceed to baptism...you go "whew" when they get dunked!!!

  Then you continue helping them to become robots just like you are...(until one day you realize the TRUTH about the truth!) Then you start posting on this board and began actively trying to help those people get back out. You try to do it in a better, sophisticated, knowledgeable way than you got them in. I was born in---4th generation...it's hard to break out of that!!!

  What puzzles me is that we had a guy who was on the board of directors of a MAJOR US CORP decide this was the truth and was baptized as I was leaving. Guess there is no explaining some things...

  Skeeter1...I was giving an opinion when I said that the booklet was outdated and that it needed revision...AND IN MY OPINION it should state that taking blood for adults is a CONSCIENCE matter.

  I didn't say that the WTS was going to do that or that they thought that or that they agreed with that. I have repeatedly said that they have misrepresented the entire blood issue all along.

  IMO---their view on not taking a transfusion is not based on scripture at all. They go back to Genesis to prove that blood was to be poored out on the ground....yes, if you took an animals life, you were to show respect to God as the Creator, and poor out the blood before eating the meat. IMO (which I have to keep stating) that was to show regard for the sanctity of life NOT THAT BLOOD WAS BAD. Therefore that would mean that it would not be WRONG to take a transfusion. IMO---It should be a conscience matter whether an adult wanted to be transfused or not. When it comes to children...I'd say to put that in the professionals hands and let the drs. do their jobs.

  The legal aspect of the essay needs to be thoroughly scrutinized and if any attorney(s) thinks it will hold up in court then I hope to see a lawsuit on the books soon. Is it o.k. with you, that we can have an opinion on this? Even if an attorney takes this on, is it o.k. for us to say what we think might happen?

  I thought O.J. was guilty...he got off.

  I thought Scott Peterson was guilty...he's on death row...

  I thought Robert Blake was guilty...he got off...

  I think the WTS is guilty about most issues....? stay tuned...

  Why is it still on their site then? Why is it there for the public if jws don't use it any longer in their field misery? And why don't they use it in the preaching work, at the door??

  SF...I haven't read your background info...but in the 40 + yrs I went door to door, I very rarely used any medical terms/illustrations about our views on blood...only the Bible. Only once did I ever give this booklet to a person...a pastor who was interested in it. Of which when I called back told me he disagreed with it. It wasn't something that we usually kept in our service bags...meaning that it was not regularly used. Do you have a witness background??? Sounds like you don't understand that it is not something we would go out and discuss on first calls. If it was brought up though, we certainly referred the people to our understanding of the scriptures on the matter.

  With all the advances in medicine...I'd say that the 1990 pamphlet is outdated and should be revised...hopefully with...it is now a conscience matter.

  I appreciate deeply what Barbara has done in coming forward and exposing the WTS. I hope that she has many successes in her future life and I hope her book does well. She deserves it!

  Asking what the rest of us have done, well that's not really fair...we all come from different backgrounds and have different resumes. There are many that post here that have overcome unbelievable trauma in their life and are still alive to talk about it and help others by doing so. Everyone reading this reach around and give yourself a pat on the back...you deserve it.
